augh how annoying. i hate those comments... seriously, you were going from a building to a car not far away... she sounds like she was bundled up just fine. try not to feel guilty!

Don't feel badly! She can't safely wear a big, puffy coat in her carseat, and she'd have been exposed to the cold longer if you wrestled it onto her in the parking lot than if you just ran in. It sounds like you had her bundled up well, and he should mind his own business.

@crystbum: 20 degrees and windy? That is very cold. Honestly, yes they can get sick from that unless wearing a warm coat. The cold compromises their immune system and can lead to them getting sick (because a compromised immune system can not fight off a virus as well as a strong one can). My pediatrician said to keep them out of the wind and that wind is more harmful than the actual temp.
Breathing in chilly winds is what leads to respiratory related illnesses.
Was she going in to an infant seat? Because I don't think people realize how hot it can get in one of those and bundling up a baby in a snowsuit can actually be too hot for them.

Either way---we all can raise our kids on our without random advice from strangers.
Don't feel guilty, every mom has made an iffy decision now and again, including myself (not saying that was iffy, because I don't know what distance you went or anything about the situation).

@crystbum: don't feel bad, it sounds like LO was very snuggly wrapped up. We took our 12-week-old out in similar conditions today, if not a bit colder, because she had a hospital appointment and we don't have a car. She was bundled up and I wore her. yes I'd rather be snuggling her indoors but she had an important appointment, these things don't stop when it's cold, you can't stay in all winter!
