Has anyone heard of butter coffee? Have you tried it? I'm intrigued but I don't know if I'm a believer of its benefits. Plus the name brand is expensive

I didn't know it was a brand...i'm aware of it as a drink. Kerrygold/grass fed butter plus coconut oil blended up with some hot coffee. I want to try it--everyone says it's amazing.

@blackbird: I've heard of the blending it in coffee too, but not what the OP is talking about.

@blackbird: well, Bulletproof coffee is a brand of it. They sell packages & other add ins, etc...I want to try it too. What I've read says to have it for breakfast with nothing else....I don't know if I could do it

I've never heard of it - sounds interesting! So it's adding extra oils into your coffee for added... flavor?
My dad and I are pretty big coffee freaks, so this would be something fun for us to look into and try out!

I've heard of it but never tried it. Think I saw a recipe on Pinterest. Not sure I could get over the butter part.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I'm not a coffee drinker but I read about it on the blog:

I never heard of this until I was perusing People magazine in the check out aisle at the grocery store. Jimmy Fallon (dad of 10 month old) swears by it. Sounds nasty to me, but I don't like coffee...or butter...

@swurlygurl: the idea is that you're adding healthy fats into your coffee instead of creamer. Usually grass fed butter & coconut oil. I really want to try it!

I don't really get using butter instead of, say, half and half or cream? They're all dairy products. Butter has more fat, I guess, though that's not really what I'm looking for in breakfast

@mamimami: Haha! Did you try butter or coconut oil? I think I'd be more willing to try coconut oil

This interests me - but I can't drink coffee without half and half. I assume adding it would ruin the effect?

@swurlygurl: I used both per the recipe on the blog... Half organic butter and half coconut oil. I really wanted to like it but I couldn't even finish my cup. Yuck.
@Mrs. Sunshine: it was just... Yucky. I don't know. I guess I can't hang.
