We are in the exact same position. LO1 was 24 months when LO2 arrived. I caved and bought a second chair. I don't regret it at all...for now anyway.

I bought an IKEA Poang chair to replace the glider. We still use it every night before bedtime.

We got a big bean bag chair for LO1's room. It's worked out fine.

We're debating between a second non-glider chair (a cozy Ikea armchair or something) or a little tent on the floor with a beanbag or pillows in it, and then using the toddler bed for bedtime stories. I'm pushing for option 1 because I love cuddling up in the chair and reading together.

We bought another glider....I wish we hadn't. It's a great piece of furniture (looks like a normal chair) but by the time DS2 was born, DS1 preferred to read on our bed....and when DS2 was 3 months old DS1 moved to a big bed and we just read there. Oh well!

DS1 never had a chair in his room, but always had a bed (even when he slept in a crib), so we always read on the bed.
