How am I supposed to argue with this when DH proposes to stay home & clean over him joining us for a friends lo's birthday party?! He says he'd rather be productive & he'd enjoying cleaning more than the party anyways. lol

Yes, even if he wasn't cleaning. I wouldn't force him to go to a kids party.
We did this today, actually, I took C to a party and he stayed home and played GTAV. No big deal.

Hmm, I dunno - he doesn't clean to my standards! Besides, I love cleaning (and hate kids parties) so I'd force him to go to the party and Id stay home to clean! Haha!

@loveisstrange: If it were my friend & not his I wouldn't bat an eye... this is the 1st bday of his best man's son though so it's technically *his* friend. haha:)

If my DH ever said this, none of us would be going to the party because I'd have died of shock. 
But yes, I would leave him with a list of what I expected to be done in return for him skipping out on the party.

Haha! My husband always says this when he doesn't want to go somewhere...usually grocery shopping.
I usually comply, but generally his idea of cleaning and my idea of cleaning turn out to be a bit different

I don't make my husband go anywhere he doesn't want to go. It's nice if he comes, but if he prefers to be home, or do something else, it's not a big deal.
