We have a casual beach wedding followed by a "dress to impress" reception.
DD has and loves this dress - is this considered a white dress? Can she wear it or no?

I would say yes. As a bride or guest I would never think "white dress - side eye" seeing a child in that dress.

I say yes! I feel like kids are excluded from "rules" haha! Plus it does have a visible black!

I think technically yes, but it doesn't really look like the "feel" of a beach wedding.

I think it's totes fine for a kid, though any way you can change the sash to something colorful? Just to make it seem a little more summery...

@Mamaof2: haha, why is she changing in between??
I think it's fine, although it makes me think she's the flower girl.

@Mamaof2: lovely little dress! I can't believe they expect guests to change in between - that's a new one for me! And holy taking up your entire day and evening!

@Autumnmama79: I know - normally it would tick me off but this is family (DH side) and we rarely see each other - we are all staying in cabins together so it should be a fun time!!

As a guest I would probably assume she's the flower girl, but depending on the bride, I'd assume not a big deal.

The "rules" about white dresses at weddings are so people won't confuse you with the bride (or upstage her), which I don't think is a problem here! Flower girls wear white all the time. I think it's super cute and totally appropriate for a small child.
