Haaaaaaalp. I'm due in 2 weeks with ds2 and we are at a name stand still. DS1 shares a name (last, different spelling) with a certain cocktail slinging, fighter jet flying movie star and I'd like them to go together. Thought I'd do a poll just to see what everyone thinks!

Given DS1's name, I think the last 2 work best. Archer is a really cool name, but for whatever reason, I voted that Duke was more your style.

I chose Archer because that's my DS middle name but I love theo as well. Would it be short for Theodore? Either way it's adorable!

@LovelyPlum: you know me too well... So Theo was my 2nd choice for C but dh had vetoed it. Then he decided that he liked it for this baby. So I was kind of set on it, but then I thought of Duke and have become pretty attached to it. However, like @Corduroy: my husband went straight to dookie... But then decided he kind of liked it, but not more than Theo. Archer was thrown in somewhere in the mix and I like it a lot, but I thiiiink I like Theo or Duke more. Rawr.
@Portboston: no, just Theo. My DH has a strange opposition to naming a baby a long version only to have them called by the nickname.

Re: Theo not being short for something-I think it's totally fine, but since there are more Theo babies around, people may assume it is. Not sure if that will make your DH upset or not.

ETA: Maddox is also striking me. I don't know why, but because DS1 has a cool letter in his name (z), it could be fun to continue the trend. X strikes a similar feel to me.

I am worried about Theo being a more popular choice, i don't want him to be one of 5 in class when he gets to school. And not even remotely a big deal, but there's no pet name for Theo like there is for C, without going to teddy.

Duke is a dog's name to me--James Madison University is a popular Virginia state school, and Duke is their dog mascot. Or Marmaduke!
I love Theo! People are offering up some other cool names as well.
