Had my laparoscopy and hysterscopy yesterday and OMG I feel like I've been hit by a bus. My shoulders are killing me and my ribs feel broken.
Anyways, my results showed scar tissue which was causing me right ovary pain. No endo, cysts or fibroids which I'm happy about BUT gyno said my left tube is narrow which would make it hard for the egg to travel down. He said my right tube was perfect. PLS tell me I can still get pregnant with the one healthy tube. Looking for success stories or advice PLS.
Can u get pregnant still if u only have one healthy tube while the other is narrow? Not blocked.

I know there are a few bees on here who have only one good side. You should be able to get pregnant the months that you O frkm the ovary with the healthy tube. Hope you feel better soon.

@Snowdrop: thanks. How do I know which side I ovulate from? Is there a way this can be checked, sorry I know its prob silly to ask but feeling bit down hearing this news.

Both my tubes are clear, but the HSG showed my RE that my right tube is crooked and behind the uterus. This would make it very hard for anything to travel, including the dye she inserted. It took minutes for it to pool out verses seconds like the left tube. An ultrasound showed an egg from my left side was bigger than the rest, and she predicted I would ovulate from my left side that month. I got my bfp that same month, and at my six week ultrasound she confirmed I ovulated from my left side. I think the fact that both of yours are clear is good. I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

My friend lost a tube during an ectopic pregnancy and still managed to get pregnant after!

@Emilia80: you can't be sure without an ultrasound but this wasn't my problem so I think there would be other people on here who could give better advice/stories. I know it certainly doesn't write off getting pregnant!

You only need one! You'd just have to ovulate on one side.
My left ovary is shit, but my right is normal! Sometimes you can feel pain when you ovulate but a trained tech can also look and see which side you ovulated from

A friend of mine only has one working ovary. It took her a year to conceive her first and about 3-4 months to conceive her second.

My friend is 4 months pregnant after losing a tube to an ectopic pregnancy. I think it took them 7 months of trying after the ectopic. Good luck!

I had an ectopic in my left tube, and was able to conceive on the right side. I didn't know which side I was ovulating from at the time, but when I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks they looked at my ovaries and could tell it came from the right side

My friend only has one ovary and has had three babies (no miscarriages).

U ladies really are the best, wish I could give u all a hug in person. U have no idea how this makes me feel. I am so glad it's possible. I almost gave up hope. @blackbird: OMG never again having a lap. The pain is debilitating. I was cut 3 times on my stomach. My shoulders are killing me and my ribs feel broken. I can't laugh, cough it's all too painful. I really wasn't expecting it to hit me this hard. You were so right! I think I'm easily going to need a week to recover! I'm socked.

My sister's gotten pregnant twice (on the first try with #1, on the 3rd month trying with #2) with only 1 tube. She lost her right tube and ovary at 15. Her OB told her that your body adjusts given enough time, to ovulate from only the functional ovary. Not sure if that's true if you still have both ovaries, but still - the chances are good either way! Good luck x

@Emilia80: it's the gas they shot into you! They fill your cavities full of it so they can see everything better. It'll go away in a couple of days!

@Emilia80: yes! You can get pg, don't give up hope! I was so sad to learn during an HSG that I had one narrowed tube & the other was pointed away from the ovary, but I'm currently 24wks pg!! I got pg the 2nd cycle after my HSG (though 10 months of TTC & 1 m/c later).

@blackbird: idk how u managed to have 2 of these procedures, this has totally put me off. God forbid I never have to go through another one again! You're a strong woman going through it more than once!
Do u think its possible the dye could open my left tube a bit? -
@Emilia80: they gave me lots of drugs and I took them! And yes my dr said the dye they shot through could unblock something, too.

That's extraordinary. Amazing how our bodies work. Once I'm better from this laparoscopy I start to planto get back into ttc. Hoping my next cycle I can start.

@blackbird: I'm refusing the drugs, they gave me endone when I awoke from anasethic but that's it. I try very hard to not take any, long story but they give me bad anxiety. So how will I know the dye opened it a bit? Would the gyno have seen during the procedure or does it happen later?

@Emilia80: well fuck no wonder you're in pain, if you aren't taking anything for it. Girl, they sliced you open! Percocet is your FRIEND! Gah.
I don't know about the dye, you'd have to ask your dr.

My friend has PCOS and one tube after and ectopic and is almost due to have #2.

@blackbird: did u bleed down there? I know it's normal and I'm not heavy bleeding but it is bleeding. I'm wondering now if this means it will change my whole cycle up? Won't be able to see my gyno for a week to ask all these questions.

@Emilia80: unfortunately I didn't find out which ovary/tube was successful... I kinda wish I had, in case we try for another after this little one arrives. I'm older & I felt like even though my results weren't devastatingly bad, coupled with my age & potential lack of (good) eggs, we were about to start down the road of assisted reproductive therapy. I feel a little like this conception was divine intervention.

@GoGoSnoGirl: I'm older too. That's my worry. I'm 34 going to be 35 in June. I also had bad amh results ( but can't be too sure as I sas on bcp when tested) a,so my fsh wasn't the best either, so we aren't wasting any time, hoping to get back into ttc. My oh, bless his soul, wants to take me on holidays bc he thinks best time for a girl to get preg is when she's on holidays as she is most relaxed. Can't say I disgaree with this and hoping it brings us much luck. All the best with your little one. Congrats :))))

@blackbird that's ok, I'll just wait for Friday, its due then, if nothing then I'm sure this procedure has played a part. It's just trying to work out the dates again which is frustrating bc we want to go on a mini holiday during my fertile days and I knew those dates perfectly before this lap. Oh well.

@Emilia80: maybe a good plan!! We did all our testing with the RE, went on vacation for 3wks, then got pg as soon as we came home... so maybe something to it!

The struggle atm is booking according to my fertile days and now idk when that will be if my period doesn't come Friday as meant to. I'm still spotting from the lap.
We can only go next month due to work commitments. So that's why its a bit stressful!
