We HAVE been able to the one time we needed it. I'm not sure, in general, how easy it is or if we got lucky.

So far, yes! Sometimes our Dr is off or booked up but we can see another Dr at the practice.

They always are able to see us right away. The majority of times they ask if we can come in now or within two hours. I seriously love my pediatrician. And she is so understanding how my constant paranoia!

Sick checks we always get in right away, physicals take a while to schedule.

Yes, but frequently they say, "what do you think she has" and then call us in whatever we need.

Yes always, but not with our actual pediatrician. It's always always someone else in the practice who isn't quite as "popular" as our doctor...

We haven't needed to, but I know we can...I've seen parents walk-in with children at almost every appointment for LO. Also, our pediatrician is part of a network, so even if we couldn't go to our location, we could go to another.

Yes. Even during the height of flu season, we were able to get in to see a doc (with our lo in her carseat, covered by a blanket).

Yes but we're at a big practice that often feels like a doctor factory. I am thinking of making a switch.

Yes...it may not be with our doctor, but with one of them in the practice.

Yes, they always leave some slots open for people who need same day visits!

ugh no and I'm so upset about it.
He had roseola in November and they were full so we never brought him in. And today he has croup, we went to the ER and called to schedule a follow up with the ped for Monday and the scheduling guy on the phone said no!
In our initial interview with the ped she said same-day sick visits were allowed. And this isn't even same-day today - I'm talking a few days from now and the guy at the clinic told me I couldn't see our dr until mid-April! Even when I said my son was croup and a possible ear infection!
I emailed my ped and hoping she'll get back to me before the weekend and we can get this situated.

Yes we have always been able to get a same day visit, although it has never been with the pediatrician that is following LO's case. We actually had two same day visits this past week!

@winniebee: the entire reason I picked my doc!
Our ped's office isn't very busy and my ped is close to retirement so he he wasn't taking new patients. He took our child because we're neighbors and he is an old time friend.
I like it that way!
I am assuming for future/additional children, I'll start having to do research on a new ped but for now and another 2-3 years, we are OK.

I've never tried to, but she's pretty awesome so I'm sure she'd fit me in.

My doc will ONLY schedule sick visits day of. If you call the afternoon before, they won't schedule you for the next day....
