@Mrsbells: What fabric are they? I have a pair of wool fingerless mittens, but the handle still slips against the palm portion.

I haven't done it yet, but Thinsulate has good grippy gloves with the leather patch over the knitted wool.

I have driving gloves! They are leather and don't slide at all when I pick anything up. I can't imagine a car seat would be an issue at all. If anything, I get a little more grip out of them

Our carseat handle has a grippy surface on the handle - are some handles smooth plastic? I've never had a problem with any gloves.
