I totally don't know if this is just my location or if this is an all across Canada thing. If any other Canadian ladies would like to voice their opinions I would LOVE to hear that I'm not the only one who's struggled with this.
I live in a major city. It rates about 4 or 5 on the biggest cities in the country.
One of the most popular malls in my city does not have one.single.store with maternity clothing in it. Not one.
I haven't been to all the malls in the city but in my general area:
The Gap - No Maternity clothing
Old Navy - They have a small, unkempt corner of Maternity clothing with a depleted selection of sizes. (obviously nothing in my size).
Thyme Maternity - Lots of selection, expensive prices and I get to wear the same shit every other pregnant woman in my city wears.
Ella Bella - If I want to pay $400.00 for a pair of jeans they are totally fashionable and trendy and cute and I love them.
Wal-Mart - I found two racks with nursing tank tops and capris and oversized sweaters
Target - Although I was told their selection was extensive on the phone, I went last night and They have about 4 racks of clothing with little variety and depleted sizes (obviously nothing in my size).
Value Village - had one rack of clothing with hardly anything that would fit me.
I'm heading to another consignment store tomorrow but I'm not holding out much hope for it. I know I won't be pregnant forever but I can't be the only woman who's gotten pregnant in my city and been frustrated with the insane lack of selection.
I tried buying a bunch of stuff off the US Old Navy website (because obviously the Canadian one didn't have a Maternity section) and while the deals were AMAZING, S&H was about $50 - $60 dollars....
/end rant. Thanks for listening....
