Anyone skip the convertible seat and go to the all-in-ones? Graco seems to have some that can handle up to a 100 lb child! I'd rather get that and use it until then instead of buying a convertible seat, and then having to upgrade again at 65 lbs.

Diono has one that was my top pick, alas it didn't fit in our car well. When we have a #2 that's ready for a convertible, we will get the Diono for LO and put #2 in the convertible we have now.

Bumping this because I have a question...if carseats expire, how can you use an all in one as a convertible car seat and a booster? Wouldn't it have expired by the time LO is using it as a booster??

@hilsy85: Some carseats have really long lifespans. I think the Diono lasts 8-10 years.

We bought the Maxi Cosi Pria 70 to use from birth. It has a tiny fit insert so that the shoulder strap hight is correct which can be a problem with other brands. The MC has a harness height of 5" whereas most others are 9" The seat is for use up to 70lbs I think so I know that eventually we will need a $50 booster but I thought that would be better than having to buy 3 carseats over time.
At 11mo we still LOVE our seat and I have no reservations about using a convertible from birth. LO will stay asleep during a car seat to carrier/stroller/crib transition because we've always done it!

We just bought the Diono Radian RXT to keep our LO rear-facing longer. Great seat and should be the last one he needs because it becomes a booster, too.

@regberadaisy: i looooooove the tiny fit insert! it was perfect for him when he was tiny! here he is on the way home from the hospital! we later found out that there is a smaller chest clip that you can switch out so that it doesn't swallow them whole ha!
ETA: my pic won't upload! will do it tonight!
