So my LO is a tall little guy, a couple months shy of 2. He is rapidly approaching the height limit for riding rear-facing in his Britax Marathon. He might get to 2, but we'll have to flip him soon.

I know the law is 1 and the recommendation is 2, but I also know he's safer rear-facing as long as he can. So part of me is wondering whether I should suck it up and buy another seat he can rear-face in longer.

Money is the main hesitation. Things are tighter than usual because we are finishing up building a house, and expenses pile up in the end, and LO 2 is on the way. We'd also need two seats ... and the few I've looked at aren't cheap. This would probably be a $500-600 purchase.

Ugh, I'm just kicking myself for not getting a seat with a taller shell! Let this be your PSA -- don't get the Marathon if you have a tall LO.
