My high risk Doctors have determined my cervix is shortening quickly. I am 22 weeks and my cervix measured .6mm. They have said there is no evidence that stitching it closed will help during a twin pregnancy. Has anyone else heard this?

i'm not sure but good luck!!! i do know that people say there's help if you have an "incompetent cervix".... i wonder if that's what it is or are you just going into preterm labor?

One signal of possible preterm labor is an incompetent cervix so the anwer is both.

I have not. However, I have had to get my cervical length checked every 8 weeks or so (I'm 30 weeks now) because I had a LEEP procedure in the past, which supposedly can do a number on the cervix. So far everything is okay, but there's still a chance of early labor.
Good luck to you! I hope everything works out.

I have never heard of stitching the cervix closed... Do they know why its shortening? And what options do they have in mind to fix this?
