My almost 3-yo is in a twice weekly morning preschool program. There are a total of ten kids in the class, with one main teacher and one other assistant/helper.
We've been there since sept and for the most part, it's been a great experience. The only thing that's been an issue is one little boy who is dealing with aggression issues. He pushes, shoves, hits, throws - after my daughter was slapped across the head, the teacher acknowledged that he needed extra supervision and now most of her morning is spent closely watching and following him. Shes very good about supervising him, but it really takes away from the other children since she has to pay so much attention to this one child. If she doesn't watch him, though, it inevitably causes a problem - for example, two weeks ago, he was standing on a loft-structure and threw a metal lunchbox down, narrowly missing my LO's head by an inch
This is causing me so much anxiety. I get nervous dropping her off in the AM not knowing if this child will somehow hurt her again. He's attempted to push her off the slide, too. He doesn't just pick on her- it's any child around him.
Just not really sure how to deal with this ... I'm getting anxious with school starting back up next week
