@April_Showers: Man, that's weird. In one light, without zooming, I see a line, but when I zoom in, it disappears. Maybe it'll look better tommorow?
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@April_Showers: I see a line but I can't tell if it has color! Is it pink or grey? Usually evap lines are grey. I'm optimistic bc your chart is so promising!!

@sslm: Under some lights at home it looked kinda grey/lavendar, but under others it looked pink. On my phone it looks like a light pink-purple. I am wondering if it is still not to early. My last LP cycle was 14-15 days. I guess we will see what today/tomorrow brings.

@April_Showers: I can't see a line but so excited for you to retest tomorrow!
Eeek so many people got crosshairs these last couple of days!

So, We're on our 2nd charting cycle now and over a year of trying. I finally made an appointment with a fertility specialist an that's happening this Thursday. In the meantime, what is happening with my chart?! Also, and this may be TMI, but how can you tell the difference between CM and, you know, remnants of the BD? gross, I know, but I feel like that's an important distinction. Thanks
ETA: here's my chart -- http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e8781

@JennKam: Ha! That is wonky. I've found that after AF, it takes a few days for the temps to stop freaking out. I keep temping anyways to keep myself in the habit, but the first week is often a little psycho.
As for the difference between BD goop and CM, that is a harder question. I've found suggestions on google that say to drop it into water and if it curls up in a ball and sinks, it's CM, if it floats and dissipates, it's sperm. Another one said that CM is quite stretchy and sperm will break. Personally, I find that sperm seems to be much more "gloopy" (almost like really gross snot), whereas CM will stretch or be really wet.
Now how's that for TMI?
cherry / 245 posts
@JennKam: I think your temps are just readjusting to the rapid change in hormones. As for the other question...BD goop (at least for me) smells differently (strongly, and ranges from fishy to metallic) from my (unscented) CM.
@JoJoGirl: Me too...considering I feel like crap today. It would be nice to know the reason...though I am almost convinced that I should just wait and see if I get 18 high temps like TCOYF suggests....This POAS deciphering is driving me crazy!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@April_Showers: Oh gosh you'll almost definitely get an accurate test sooner than 18 temps, but the 2 go together really really fascinatingly well - ie if you wake up and your temp is AT or BELOW coverline (not just dipped!), you'll get AF that day. It just blows my mind how consistently that is true. If your temp stays up, keep testing!
@JennKam: I think the other 2 ladies have answered that question pretty well I usually tell the difference only by timing... ie anything post-BD is not CM. And it shouldn't 'hang around' that long once I've stood up!

Thanks! I guess I was expecting my cover line to be the same as it was last cycle, but it looks like it will level out a little higher this time. I that normal? For the coverlinebto be different each month? Time to stalk some charts!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@JennKam: This is only my 2nd month charting but my coverline was way higher this month (97.6 vs. 97.2). I was also surprised it was so different. I stalked charts too and that seems normal.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@JennKam: Haha. I don't know. There's quite a learning curve for those of us who don't get month 1 BFPs.

@JennKam: My coverline is VERY different every month. All my charts are on my homepage, check em out! =)

@april_showers: I see a faint line, but I think you should test again tomorrow or maybe the day after before getting too excited just incase!

For me, I'm still waiting to O. For whatever reason, I am much more mellow this cycle. I couldn't even tell you off the top of my head what CD I am on. I expect that to change once I start the TWW.

I am out...AF showed up this evening. So I guess it was an Evap Line. On to the next month...

@Rachel: I would like to thank the Academy...
@April_Showers: Sorry. I hate it when everything looks so promising, just to find out it's been a big fake-out.

@april_showers: sorry, lady..... I hear good things for us august/september ladies!

Ok ladies. I loaded my charts today just so that you can look at them. I hope this works (since it's my first time). I stalk everyone else's so I figured you could stalk mine too.

@April_Showers: NnoooooOooOOOOoooOooo *shakes fists at the sky*. Sorry, girl
@Ambular: Nice chart! And welcome! Man I'm so jealous of you early O-ers.

@ambular1025: Welcome! I'm with @jojogirl over here, very jealous of your early O.

@grace: ha, yeah it did jump, however, I woke up two hours late and temped so I'm trying not to get to excited till I see tomorrows temp. I would love, love, love, to get crosshairs. And it could make sense, I have been beyond tired, I have one breakout, and I've been excited to BD a little more the last couple of days. However, I also went back to work on Friday so that could explain 2 out of the 3 as well.
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Grace, @Jojogirl, and @Rachel thanks for the positivity. Today I entered my temp and it moved my crosshairs forward a few days, which totally doesn't sync up with my fertility monitor so I'm so confused. I haven't slept well the past two nights so I'm sure my temps are off. Sometimes charting is so frustrating, especially when you go from 6 days post ov to 4. Grrr.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@ambular1025: I'm not a specialist in charting, but I think I'd go with what your monitor said. I'd hate to lose PO days
@grace: I was kinda excited at the higher temp today, so I love that you are too. I have a good feeling about this cycle. I hope I don't get disappointed!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@ambular1025: These CH are dotted too, so I wonder if you discard today's temp if it'll move them back to where they were, solid and aligned with the monitor?
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@JoJoGirl: oo nice to see that "Mon" row on your chart!
@Grace: your chart is looking gooood!
@ambular1025: I agree with the others, I'd be more inclined to go with your monitor than FF for now - and with more temps/data, FF might move it back where it was anyway
@dharmainitiative: stalked your chart - sorry that you're out, but yay for a normal looking/length cycle!
@alison206: haha what, going back to work doesn't make you more excited to BD?
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@ambular1025: I've never used a monitor so I may be way off base, but doesn't it measure LH and estrogen? Those are the hornones that increase before O. So, if a peak day corresponds with the LH surge, then you would ovulate after the peak day, just like the OPK strips. Plus, I read that it can take a few days for progesterone to increase enough to be reflected in temps.
Personally, I'd take the later O date. Nothing worse than thinking you are late and wondering why the preg tests are negative.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@Grace: I think that's why the earlier O date makes sense with the monitor - her readings went back to low on the day she Od (like an OPK being negative) and were peak the 2 days before. It would be weird for her to O like 4 days after the peak, no?
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@rachel: ha, no going back to work does not make BDing appealing. I am so tired, and unpacking a classroom and moving furniture around all by myself is killing my body! The fact that I have the energy to even think about BDing should be considered a good thing. BTW, your chart looks great!
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@JoJoGirl: I don't know, honestly. And since this is her first chart there's no pattern to go on.
pomelo / 5041 posts
How do I show you guys previous charts? I loaded last month's (where I didn't have the monitor) and I have a clear crosshairs there.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@ambular1025: you go to Account, then Home Page Settings, then at the bottom you add the charts you want to appear on your home page and save it.
