@jojogirl: Don't feel like a monitor hoarder. I've gone back and forth about keeping my monitor or giving it away once I get a BFP. On one hand I love helping someone out, but on a second I know how hard it was to conceive the first time, and I'll probably need it again. It's an honest and ok feeling!

On side note, my chart is looking really different this month and when I put in today's reading it put me at 3DPO. I've been perfectly on my temps this month (using an alarm) so I know they're right, but I have a hard time believing I'm already 3DPO.

@JoJoGirl: @ambular1025: Girls!!! It is not your responsibility to get the rest of us pregnant! It's a wonderful gesture that you want to help, but you should keep it for #2 (and if you don't need it, that's awesome). Remember that you can always sell it after you've finished having kids and you will help someone else out. Don't feel bad!!

@jojogirl @ambular2015: @grace is so right! Once I have one I will be hoarding it for baby number 2. Don't feel bad at all!!!!

@Grace: @alison206: I'm in the woods this weekend with DH for some r&r and was sneaking a look on my phone- you ladies are making me tear up your bfps are coming, I (and Jenny renny/Cheri) know it!!!!

@ambular: you got ch?!?!? Can't see your chart from here but I will look once I'm back in civilization

    Big hugs to you guys.

@jojogirl: Thanks hun. Ya, I got CH today which put my O date 4 days ago. It's weird but exciting since it means I just went from 1 DPO to 3 DPO with the click of a button - 2 days less to wait to test haha. Enjoy your time with DH!

@Alison206: It's so good to see you back on here more often!

Okay, I just have to say that that thread about people not charting/TTC is incredibly depressing. That's great that some people have "oops" babies or get lucky on their first try but do they have to be so obvious about it? Some of the comments were so inconsiderate and I wish I'd never clicked on the thread.

  9. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@spaniellove: Oh sweetie, I'm sorry the thread got to you. I had to go back and read it because I couldn't remember anything bad, per se. It seemed to me that most of the ladies knew how lucky they were to not have to TTC.

I'm reading into your comment, so forgive me if I'm way off base. I found cycle 6 to be the worst one so far. It made me feel depressed and defeated. So I just wanted to send some hugs. It will get better.

  10. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Grace: Yeah, although the discussion in general was kind of putting down those of us who actually have to try and there were some snide comments. Of the people I know, there are a lot of losses, fertility treatments and all that so TTC is just a given and you'd never assume anyone had an easy road to parenthood.

For me, the feeling started with cycle 3 because I'm a numbers/odds person and I'd seen the numbers for cycles 3, 6, and 12. That's when I got DH to go to the urologist because I didn't want to wait until a year out, and I'm glad we can move forward with ART after cycle 6, because almost none of his swimmers are moving.

@spaniellove: I think it was jholler who had a colleague that told someone she was lucky to get pregnant on her first try. Well, they were actually pregnant their first month of charting, but had been trying for several months before that. She just felt that the charting was the first 'real' month so that's what she told everyone. You never know how someone is 'calculating' things. We've hit the one year mark. We had a 5 month pregnancy in there before we lost our baby, but the numbers suck. It's hard seeing them. Hang in there!!! Hugs!!!!!!

Ladies, my chart (which in the past was almost exactly the same) has now switched to a totally different pattern this month. It used to shoot up, then pretty much plateau and go back down. This month it's a very slow stairstep creep. Is this supposed to mean anything? Does anyone know?

  15. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@spaniellove as someone who got pregnant month one I had no idea how lucky I was. My feelings were actually hurt that a friend at work was upset that it was so easy. What an insensitive jerk I was! Our mc and trying again has taught me so much. I am dreading work tomorrow where my pregnant co worker will let me know thatshe is expecting. Blah.

I do agree that it is hard. Why is it so easy for some people and not for others? My heart breaks for all of us month after month of disappointment. I haven't looked at the exact thread but I know how you feel! Hang in there it'll be all worth it on the end!

@Jennimac: You have an excellent memory! I am still hurt by that girl looking me dead in the eyeball and saying "We got pregnant on our first month!" I was honest and told her that we had been trying no luck for 6 months and how upset I was getting about it and she just stone-face lied to me! A couple of weeks later, another colleague who heard her say it to me told me that she wanted to call her out on it right there bc she could tell it was hard for me while I had just poured my little heart out to her about my frustrations. It turns out, the "first month" girl had been actively trying over 6 months too, since their wedding, and her doctor made her chart because SHE was freaking out that it hadn't worked! So she charted and that was the month she got pg. So she just omitted that they had already been trying for 6 months and that she was worried enough to go to her doctor about it.

I still hold a grudge against her for that!!! People are so shady!

@jholler25: yes!!!!! I'm glad I remembered it correctly. I remember it made me upset for you. I just don't get it. Why do some people have to be like that? So unnecessary.

@jholler25: Perhaps she was ashamed that it took so long? Or ashamed that she was worried about it? Or maybe it was a traumatic experience and she didn't want to talk about it? People are weird and it's hard to know why they do things without being in their shoes.

@Grace: i live in S Fl (ft lauderdale/miami) and it's the most superficial image-conscious place ever (I hate it & can't wait to move). I think she just had it in her head she wanted everyone to think that- her image maybe? And even thiugh she had shared very personal things with me before, and she had just watched me almost cry talking about my ttc struggles, she just wasn't willing to risk that image or "accomplishment" by telling me the truth. I don't have that kind of heart. I couldn't kick someone while they were down like that. The second colleague told me that "first month" girl volunteered the info a lot, even though it wasn't true. That was the image she wanted to project. Get a life, "first month" girl!!!

Years ago I actually got pregnant as an "oops" while on BC and then had a m/c. After that 2 different doctors told me everything looked like I should be able to get pregnant as soon as I started trying...but here I am. It takes two to make a baby, right? I wish people knew that sometimes you just get very lucky and it works the first time but that doesn't actually mean a whole lot.

This is the weirdest post-O I've had. I never get sick but I'm as sick as the first week I taught 1st grade (they're cute but they're little germ magnets!), and my CM is just bizarre. It's creamy but still has some EWCM? And every day I still find some traces of brown. I've been marking it as spotting b/c I didn't know how else to note it. Sorry for the TMI!

  22. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@ambular1025: Not sure it means anything yet; you may want to see if the overall shape of the chart ends up being different?

  23. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@spaniellove I think so too. I would think eggwhite cm that was still creamy was probably good. Didn't someone else recently have this problem? I'm on my phone so it's hard to check.

@spaniellove i totally understand being depressed over that thread. and i know i don't really have a right to feel this way because i'm only on TTC cycle 2, but considering how disheartened i was after it didn't take the FIRST cycle, i can only imagine how the longer-ttc ladies feel month after month. i'm so sorry for everything that everyone who has been trying longer is going through, i really am.

  25. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@jholler25: Ahh. So she's superficial to start with. Sorry you had to put up with that. Are you looking to move soon?

@spaniellove: Two, for sure. In my case hopefully 3 people's the charm!

FF pushed my O date forward 2 days today but I totally disagree. My chart is extremely different this time, so I can't even measure it against the past 2 months. I'm totally frustrated! Any advice?!

@JoJoGirl: OMG OMG OMG, I just saw your chart!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP!!!!! I'm soooooooooooo happy for you!!!!!

  29. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@ambular1025: To be conservative I have to agree to assume the CH are where they are (I struggled with this the whole cycle, remember?). I'm still convinced I O'd the day of the second P, but FF said I Od the day of the H. I don't even know if it goes by temps or trumps them with the monitor reading? It did the same thing to you last month! Either way, your temp is rising so that's good!

    @Adira: YAY THANK YOU!!!

  30. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@jojogirl, @rachel: Thanks girls. It's always a bummer to lose 2 dpo but you may be right. I'll trust the monitor. I'm more annoyed by this totally different chart type this month. I don't know what any of it means, or why it would change.

  31. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@ambular1025: Are you able to temporarily remove all of the monitor data after the first P and see what happens? Since all of that has nothing to do with what your body is doing and it's just going on autopilot at that point, I noticed a lot of people just stop entering anything from the monitor after the first P. I don't think the new CH are accurate.

I've been sleeping ALL DAY! Feeling so gross and so sick. But I did have a burst of energy in the morning and made an appointment with the RE for the beginning of October. Woohoo!

  32. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

Had my doctor's appointment today and showed her all my meticulously printed out charts and she didn't realise that she was looking at a temp chart. She tells me "women often find charting to stressful because they become obsessed". I told her I'm worse without it because my cycles can be irregular, leading me to believe I'm always pregnant.

  33. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Grace: That seems to be the reaction from a lot of OBs, which is disappointing. I thought it was interesting that in this questionnaire from the RE they specifically asked about charting and what it showed. How did your appointment go otherwise?

  34. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@spaniellove: She ordered a ton of labs and I have to bring my husband with me at my next appointment so that she can refer us to the fertility clinic. So, I guess that means it was a good appointment! Kind of anticlimactic though.

  35. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Grace: It's probably helpful to get all the labs done now! I haven't had any of that done so I imagine it'll hold things up...my appointment isn't until CD7 and some of those tests have to be done at the very beginning of the cycle so I'll have to wait an entire month.

  36. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@spaniellove: The fertility clinic here requests that you go to your appointment with all that testing done already. I'm curious about the results. I was tested for PCOS in 2010 and everything was normal except for borderline low iron.

  37. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Grace: I think this clinic mentions calling on CD1 to schedule everything...I really wish they'd given me an appointment just a week earlier so I wouldn't have to lose a whole month!

  38. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@spaniellove: That's tight. There's a day 3 FSH test that has to be done. And I think that's the only one that has to be done at the beginning of the cycle.

@Grace: They seem to have it all in a graphic here:

@Grace: Are you thinking you'll try Clomid when you see the RE? Or go for more aggressive treatments?
