Growing up, we had a traditional Christmas breakfast of cinnamon rolls, little smokie sausages, OJ, and cocoa. When we were little, we'd all climb in mom and dad's bed and eat before we went downstairs for presents.
I'm hoping to start a traditional breakfast this year as it will be the first Christmas with just me and hubs (and bump).

After presents, my dad always made a little breakfast (we didn't want to eat too much so we had lots of room for dinner!). He would make eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast normally.

My mom used to make a breakfast casserole: sausage, egg, and hashbrowns or some version of that. We also had a french toast casserole as well which was so good. Lately, it's been eggs, toast, and bacon before presents. I'd love to continue the french toast or the breakfast casserole tradition.

We always had breakfast casserole (sausage, egg, bread and cheese type casserole) with holiday whirl rolls (bread rolls rolled in cinnamon, sugar, and nuts). I'm not sure what I'll do this year.

We weren't a breakfast family when I was growing up...I think it's because my parents were/are European, and breakfast isn't a big thing like in the US.
I want to start something with my family though, I am thinking of a french toast casserole type thing so I can prep it ahead and bake in the morning. I've also heard people doing something in the crockpot, not sure what though.

We've started our own tradition (hubby and I for our future family) of cinnamon swirl pancakes with maple cream cheese topping.

We didn't do anything like that, unfortunately! It sounds really great!
We currently spend Christmas morning at my in-laws, and we usually do something casual over there for breakfast.

I want to start a breakfast tradition this year with homemade cinnamon roles. I'm going to start this year.

We would always have a quiche, some delicious and "fancy" (read: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries) fruits and hot cocoa.

we have breakfast burritos and monkey bread - yum! oh and mimosas, i'm hoping i'll be pregnant this year and won't be able to have those though

we tore into gifts, my parents took photos/videos, and then my mom made pillsbury cinnamon rolls while we played..so basic, but such a great memory!
DH and I go straight over there on Christmas morning (my littlest sister still believes!) and watch the gift crazyness..and my mom still makes the buns!

@Rosie Girl: exactly the same breakfast! Except MIL makes it and she usually gets the croissants from Costco instead of toast.

My Mom always and still does make either breakfast croissant sandwiches or a crab quiche. Yummy! I made cinnamon rolls a couple years ago, but I've been to busy..

I'm excited to start this tradition... last year we did it but doing it this year will make it officially a yearly tradition
I do Ina Garten's easy sticky buns (the EASIEST EVER and they are SO DELICIOUS), maple syrup bacon and apple cider, hot and cold.

I'm so glad there are other people that get excited about traditions like this too! I just wrote a blog post about this and an anonymous commenter said "get a life!" I can't tell if I've got one mean anonymous or several, but they pop up from time to time...

@tina: Thanks. That's definitely what I tell myself. It's especially ridiculous because they always comment minutes after my posts go up. I think it's hilarious that they obviously track my blog so closely if it irritates them so much
