What are your movie plans Christmas Day?
I want to see Selma. My husband wants to see The Interview, but I don't want North Korea to see the tickets on our CC.

None. Have you seen the news stories about the threat made to theaters that play The Interview? DH and I don't usually go to the movies on Christmas, and we won't be this year either.

We dont do movies on Christmas Day because DH used to work in a theater and it sucks that they dont get it off. Same reason I dont shop on Thanksgiving.
We both really want to see The Interview though. We'll just wait.

Like at the theater? We don't do that. I find it so weird and didn't even know it was a thing until college.

We don't go to a movie, but we always watch A Christmas Story at home Also on "our Christmas" (DH and I celebrate at home before we head to my family's house) we always watch White Christmas.

We've gone to movies on Christmas day in the past, but won't this year. Too busy!! I haven't heard of either of those movies.
And I have worked way too many holidays at the hospital so I don't take pity on people that have to work. It's a job.

@Leialou: I read an article about it, it's terrifying.
I've always wanted to go to a move on Christmas Day but I never have, and this year won't be any different.

I have gone in the past but won't be going this year! DH wants to see The Interview.

@Leialou: yep, Cinemark isn't going to play the movie at all and the premiere was cancelled.
@loveisstrange: I don't shop on Thanksgiving because I see that as truly an everybody holiday, but Christmas is fair games since there are so many people/ religions that do not celebrate. The fact that businesses close that day weird me out because people who don't celebrate are forced to observe the holiday. I'm sure no one really complains about a day off, but still.

We may go the day after Christmas. I want to see Into The Woods!

@autumnlove: is that even your kind of movie? I feel like TheInterview is a type of movie that an immature college kid would wwant to see. He thinks his mom, sisters, and I would get a kick out of it. No!

@mrs. wagon: I can't wait to see Into the Woods. I love the show (was in it in college, but the love started long before), and I'm really excited to see what they do with it. I love that Sondheim was a really hands-on consultant.
But we won't see it on Christmas. Maybe the following weekend. Will have to check with my parents about sitting.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I wonder how many other theaters aren't going to release it now.
pineapple / 12526 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Im not getting into a big argument with you about it. That's my opinion. You can take it or leave it.
@mrs. wagon: I want to see Into the Woods SO BAD. I was in the show a few years ago and Im dying to see it.

@MrsKoala: that looks awesome. Angelina Jolie is a reallyttalented director. She picks interesting stories to tell. Have you see In the Land of Blood and Honey?

@loveisstrange: ok, I wasn't arguing with you. Just sharing my take on it.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: he made me read about it yest, not a movie I would pick but I chose the last one!

We planned on taking B to see Into the Woods but now we are hesitant to go to the theatre because of the terrorist threats. So, we will likely get our sushi and watch a movie at home this year.

We have never gone to a movie on Christmas Day, but we sometimes watch movies at home! This year we bought the classic animated The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, so we'll probably watch that.

I don't ever go to the theater on Christmas Day. I want to actually spend time with family, not sit silently next to them in the dark.
I do really want to see Into The Woods though but I won't be going Christmas Day.

I didn't know movie theaters were open, let alone it was a thing until I met DH. His family gets enough of each other after opening gifts, so they go to the movie theater afterwards. Yeah, no. Not saying everyone who goes to the movies is like that, just his dysfunctional family!
