Hellobee Boards

Both DD's have Dec birthdays so if this list is long, it's because I lump all gifts together. I'm basically giving grandparents the list so they can pick something to buy.

I don't have a big "need" list b/c whatever they need, I just buy whenever I come across deals/have coupons...

I just ordered 6 Little Golden books b/c Target had/has a buy 2 get 1 free deal. So those will be sprinkled in somewhere.

DD1 (will be 3)
Her requests:

I basically have no clue what to get her b/c she wants her sister's toys anyway! I might just package some of the above and pretend it's for her.... Poor kid! I really have to think hard on what I can get her that's not gonna be wasteful.

DH (too old, lol)
He really got into boxer briefs this year, so I'll probably get him some new ones. That's really it... I think I'm gonna try to plan a date day/night, I know he'll really enjoy that. And also give him a day off to go fishing.

Myself
Skincare stuff! If anyone asks I'll probably just ask for a giftcard to buy new skincare stuff. I also am trying to order breastmilk jewelry so DH can pretend to give that to me haha.

My son has started his lists (also has a December birthday). He wants some lego architecture sets (white house, trevi fountain and something else, I can't remember), a playmobile police car and another ride on car, which we won't be getting (as he already has one). His list also contains a monster jam RC car, which we will likely get for him.

He also wants a birthday party at a trampoline park, so I think that will be his birthday gift, he'll be covered when it comes to gifts from his friends so he won't even think about more.

I might ask my parents to gift him art lessons this year, he really enjoyed them last year, and from my inlaws and my husband's extended family, a bicycle, I think.

As for gifts for my husband and I, we don't do them. What we do instead is stockings, and my son picks out a gift for each of us from him. It's cute, because my son tends to want to buy us toys, we're all kids at heart.

For DH: I’d love to get him a new watch or fan memorabilia from Eddie Murphy or Sylvester Stallone.

For me: Matching PJs with LO. I really could use a grown up purse.

For LO: Matching PJs with me. Kitchen tools that are just his size like oven mitts, aprons, and maybe even some tools where he can really help cook. He loves to read and I was thinking about getting him a cool bean bag chair from Etsy for him to plop down and read in. Otherwise, I’m stumped.

For the 4.5 year old (this is our big wish list, not sure what we are getting yet/ asking grandparents for):

fuzzy ugg style boots (she asked for these last year and I got a great deal a few months ago on an Emu pair)

we are making a little set for small world play- we are painting small wooden houses (just 2x4's cut at angles to make roofs), trees, and peg people

16 month old (he was hard, because we have all the basic toys- like a barn set, dollhouse, blocks, stacking toys, etc)
-asking for a learning tower
-I upgraded our farm animals, replacing some of the cheap plastic ones with nice wooden holtizger animals
-Upgraded play kitchen accessories and food (I will also sew some napkins, dish cloth, and an apron etc to add to this).

we do a lot of books, and the big gift this year is a nice new table and chair set.
they are getting a couple pairs of matching PJS because they needed the next size up and my daughter LOVES matching.

stocking stuffer ideas: hair bows, tooth brushes, fun bandaids

we recently lost our cat and I'm contemplating trying to get two kittens, but I don't know if we are ready to get more pets yet, and I don't know if the timing would work out.

I have zero ideas for the grown ups. I might get my husband a new ceramic frying pan. He needs new underwear but I really don't think I can cross the line into giving him new boxer briefs for Christmas.
My wish list: new rain jacket and pants, gift certificate for skin care stuff, a couple nature guides, instapot, a new vacuum (I've been pricewatching the one I want, so I may just buy it when its on sale next), a rain gauge and a wind gauge, maybe some seasonal decor items

I’m getting some good ideas here! I just added to my wishlist for both- role playing dress up clothes. We have lots of princess dresses, and just received a bag of old dance costumes that my 4 year old LOVES, but I’d like to add things like doctor, fire fighter, etc, to the mix.

Apparently Fingerlings are the new Hatchimals for Christmas 2017 I found out last week?? My dd hasn't asked for one but my local Walmart had 2 left in stock so I picked up one for each of my girls. They were only $20 so not too bad.

Other than that for their "big" gift, we are getting them a Kidkraft So Chic dollhouse - I like that all sides are open so they can play together without fights (hopefully) and its on wheels so we can tuck it away when not in use.

For Dh I might get him a pair of Apple airpods

For my 3yo son:
- a watch
- a goldfish (a real one)
- a plastic or melamine mug (he loves the idea of having a mug like mom and dad)
- headphones?
- more 4-5T underwear (prob more of a stocking stuffer)
- costumes/dress up clothes
- ok to wake clock
- books. I get a bunch of books for every holiday and event and just rotate them out regularly.

For my husband (not all of this I’ll pick one or two things depending on price)
- a new carry on
- a new backpack
- New basketball shoes
- Bose wireless ear buds
- a cologne that is insanely expensive but we both really like it
- a blanket made of his old sentimental t-shirts (we have like 50 t-shirts in a storage container that he doesn’t wear but doesn’t want to get rid of so I thought that would be nice)

Me (my husband doesn’t usually get me gifts. He tells me to go buy something for myself. Haha. But my mom and sister and I exchange so this is the list I will give them. And my extended family does a secret Santa so I’ll pick some small things like bath bombs and kitchen utensils)

- Shu Uemura shampoo, conditioner and thermomilk. It’s expensive so I feel bad outright buying it.

For FIL a food gift box of some of his favorite things that we picked up on a recent trip- candy popcorn etc.

For our friends we are traveling with a puzzle and flash cards for the kids.

For nieces and nephews and friends- alllll the Nikes.

@SweetiePie: @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: for cookie making, my mom got this cookie press to use with her grandkids and even got them each their own because they love it so much. My daughter is 4 and she could mostly do the actual cookie pressing my herself, plus “helping” measuring the ingredients and she pours them from the measuring cup into the mixing bowl. But she really liked pressing them out and then decorating with sprinkles. (I of course loved that my mom did this with her while little sister napped and I relaxed)

@SweetiePie: yeah we usually use the old fashioned Mirro one but it’s too hard for little hands. Though she likes to decorate them in any case (until I catch her licking the sprinkles bowl!)

I love these threads! I read each response closely for ideas!!

This year is easy. No gifts between DW and me because we are taking our first real family vacation in January. For DS (will be just 2), a Land of Nod teepee and lots of small stocking stuffers I've been picking up here and there. The beauty of him thus far is he has no idea what Christmas is We are also taking him on his first Polar Express ride where you wear pajamas and see Santa I suggested a Little People racetrack for my parents to get him. That's it!

Just thought of one more thing, my parents are getting my DDs LL Bean snow tubes ... they look awesome and get rave reviews from my friends !

@Foodnerd81: Ok thanks! Yes our kids are only two weeks apart right? MAybe I just need to try again. No idea why DS hated it. Seems so useful! Haha.

@wrkbrk: Mine doesn’t like it if I put him in there but he likes to climb in on his own.

DS (will turn 2 in early November):
From us: paying for a plane ticket to visit family (half joking, but for real, it’s so expensive!) we will also get him a Melissa and Doug car carrier toy from Santa and a stocking with some stickers, temporary tattoos, couple books, matchbox cars, etc. then a Christmas Eve present with PJs and The Polar Express book.

From family: big gift is the workbench from land of nod. Other ideas I’ve given are duplos, books, train set accessories, doctor kit, and Melissa and Doug 12 piece jigsaw puzzles

For me: maybe a membership to a yoga studio or a few massages. I want some “me-time” more than stuff this year.

For DH: hmm not sure yet. His bday is in December so I have to come up with something good!

I'm so glad this list was started because I need to get on my Christmas shopping since baby #2 will be here early December!

For DS, he will turn 4 a few days before Christmas. We plan to.do a local bounce house party and I am on the hunt for a NASA/rocket ship backpack for him. He's obsessed with rocket ships.

Lo1 has been mentioning things she’s like slowly; mostly a marble run though that makes me nervous with lo2 still putting everything in her mouth! I’d also like to get her another baby doll although maybe I’ll get it for lo2 since lo1 has claimed all the others! Otherwise I’m not sure... probably restock art supplies. We celebrate hannukah and I like to have something for her to open each night but it’s a stretch!

My 4.5 year old has started keeping a list for some time now. Basically, ever since her birthday in July, every time she wants something we say she can think about adding it to her Christmas list because we don't buy toys all the time.

So far her list is:

@erinbaderin: so for that cat keyboard. We have it and it is SOOO obnoxiously loud. I'm not even kidding. We had to hide the damn thing because I couldn't take it anymore. So, a fair warning! lol
