I just booked the photographer to take our Christmas card pictures, but I have no clue what we're going to wear! Help me plan outfits! It's for me, DH, and our little girl (she will be 7 months old).

I struggled with this too. I picked out/shopped for DS's outfit first then picked ours out from there. We were pretty simple. He wore a plaid button-up, I wore a plain red sweater and DH wore a navy button-up. I was wanting to be more creative/stylish....but that didn't work out. Going for timeless.

I like non-traditional colors for Christmas cards. Wintery, but not SO Christmasy.

I had to cancel our Christmas pictures, but I was going to do gray and coral.

I love ivory - I think it's not so Christmasy but works great for the holiday season.
I love sweater dresses on little girls - like this one: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=84667&vid=1&pid=297823002
Love this outfit too: http://www.gap.com/browse/outfit.do?cid=87257&oid=OUT-915147022
This sweater for you maybe: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=8998&vid=1&pid=245747002
paired with either black skinnies, dark wash jeans, black boots of bootie heels
Maybe a silver scarf?
For your DH: nice jeans, and maybe a grey sweater/vest, or ivory as well - but not if all of you are wearing ivory as well. That's too matchy

I saw something on Pintrest that I thought was a helpful guideline. It suggested limiting everyone's outfits to three main colors where one is a neutral (so like, navy, white, and mustard), and then picking a splash of color to accent things with (bright yellow, or red, or pink) - scarves, hairbows, etc..
Here's the link with an explanation: http://www.meghanowensphotography.com/families/what-to-wear-for-family-photoshoots-the-three-colors-pop-rule/

@Mrs. Tricycle: love that post!! that's great
oh and FWIW, we didn't do Christmas colors for our pictures on Saturday. We did fall.
I wore a navy dress with grey tights and cognac boots; DH wore a navy gingham shirt with a mustard sweater and dark jeans; and DS work navy gingham pants with a white shirt and navy vest. So the colors were gray/white, navy and mustard. It look great together. We didn't do a "pop" though - but that would have been cute.

Love these ideas, love HB, love all of you! Thanks ladies!
@Coco Bee: I've been eyeing sweaters like the white Gap one for winter. Maybe this is my reason to buy that I've been looking for
