Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? I made a list of everything that we are getting for others but we haven't actually started shopping. I did buy Hubs' present today though. Our plan is to be done shopping by Thanksgiving, but we've got to get started soon! Have you started? When are you planning on being finished?

AHHHHH!!!!! we haven't even begun to think about it. I'm trying to get Hubby on board with giving some kind of 'theme' gift for people, but he likes to do things differently. I also have NO idea what to get Hubby for Christmas.

@Jennimac - Wicked is coming to our area in May so we agreed that our gift to each other would mostly be the Wicked tickets, but we also said we could buy one other gift that was worth no more than $15. I found a small fire-safe box at Walmart that was $15.97 (on sale) so that will be his gift, fabulously unromantic!

@MaisyMay......I love that! I also wanted to set a limit on Christmas gifts, but he was not about that either.
I'm going to keep working on him and see what we can do.

I've already picked up a few things for our nieces and nephew but I have no idea what to get for the hubs. I'd like to be done by the 1st of December but we'll see.

@Jennimac - The Wicked tickets that we want are about $100 a piece so we had to set some limits. Every year we've done some sort of limit. Our anniversary is a week before Christmas, so lots of gifts to exchange around then. We set a $20 max for our first Christmas together since we'd just had the wedding and the last year we bought stockings for each other and filled them. That was a lot of fun!

that's cool! Christmas, my birthday, our anniversary, and Valentine's Day are all about two weeks apart from each other, so limits will probably be really good for us to have!

I have kind of started. It's like I forget Christmas is coming in December and am surprised every November!
We do a swap with my ILs, so that's relatively easy as it is just 2 gifts on that side. This year we have to get our son's stuff sorted out, but he'll be 1, so it's not going to be anything huge. His birthday is also the 16th of December, so we have to organize his birthday gift as well.
I've bought something for my mom and my soon to be SIL. DH and I decided we're going to see a show and stay overnight in NYC one evening, so that is our gift to each other this year. -
Gah! Nope. I need to get going, too, because I have a trial starting right after Thanksgiving that will go until the second week of December. I am a huge fan of online Christmas shopping though.

Yes, I've started. With each paycheck I'm buying one or two things so that this year I use only the money I currently have and don't rely on credit cards!

Nope! but I can't wait to put our new christmas tree up and see Mavi's face with the whole snow/holiday spirit. He was only 6 months last year so this is technically his first real xmas.
I need to start thinking what I want on my xmas list. any ideas?

I'm about half way finished. I still need to get stuff for my mil and fil. They're pretty difficult to buy for because they never want anything and aren't really that into gift giving. Also need gifts for my bil and hubby's bil but I leave that up to husband to give me ideas and he hasn't had any good ones yet.

I havent started, but i really need to get out to the store and see what i want to get Jovani for Christmas. He will be 5 1/2 months. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should get for him?

Haven't even really thought about it yet. Last year we let it wait until the last minute, and I'm afraid that might happen again this year, especially if I continue to be sick the rest of the first trimester. This might be the year I switch to all online shopping.

Ack! I haven't even begun to think about Christmas shopping. We'll be staying in the UK, so we'll have to use Amazon to send stuff to my family in Texas.
As for me and the hubs, it will be our first Christmas just the 2 of us, so I want to make sure it's nice, but I have no idea what I'll do exactly... -
OMG. you guys are freaking me out. I probably won't start shopping until after Thanksgiving, which is HORRIBLE... AAHHHH.

I haven't started and I have no idea what I'm getting anyone! I'm really crossing my fingers that Hubs finds a job soon so we can have a little extra money for the holidays this year.
I'm slightly put off, though, that so many stores have Christmas things out already.... December really does seem to sneak up on you!

I haven't started at all! This thread has definitely motivated me to at least start a gift/budget list!
I usually do my shopping in bits and pieces throughout November and early December so I'm not in a bind financially, buying all at once. Hubby and I will probably go light this year. We have a baby to save up for!

i have lots of ideas but need to get to buying! good thing is that our families have really nixed gift giving so it's so much easier. plus em is so young that we don't have to buy much for her. hubs and i are going to napa for our 5 year anniversary right before christmas + going to disney with em with his family during december so we've decided that was gift enough for each other. we may do small, silly or practical things to fill each other's stockings though.

I have bought the baby's presents already and my hubby and I agreed to just do stockings for each other this year and maybe go somewhere in February or March.
For my family, I have some ideas already so I'm going to get started on those soon.

We haven't, but mostly because my family does a secret Santa and we don't pull names until Thanksgiving. I am trying to work on my son's list already, though, and one for the person who draws my name.
I'm going to keep working on him and see what we can do.
