Since LO is due around Christmas, we've already gotten about 1/2 of our shopping done. For the gifts we haven't already purchased, we at least know what we are planning on getting.
What's the earliest you've started your holiday shopping?

I usually pick up a few things here an there throughout the year. But this year we will be getting serious soon. Our baby is due on Nov 25th and I want to be totally done before the baby comes.

Omg you cray cray!
We have Soooo many birthdays right before Christmas it's hard to do Christmas shopping early.

@MamaMoose: That's where we're coming from! Except for 2 presents that will need a picture of LO after she's born, we want everything to be done!

There is a big consignment sale in October so I will probably buy a few things then. Its hard to shop too early because LO is changing SO fast. So what I think she would like for Christmas in october may actually not be practical by end of December.

@regberadaisy: We're fortunate that for us, birthdays are pretty spread out! Our anniversary is going to be a few days after we bring LO home, and a few days later will be Christmas, so we just want to be as prepared as possible!

I usually start in November. I have a hard time thinking about Christmas before my birthday.

@Thehistoryofus: are you talking about the Just Between Us sales? I went to one on Friday and am hooked! We have 4 of them within a reasonable distance of us, and are planning on going to at least 1 more.

Yep similar to @mamamoose I am due 11/23 .. so my goal is to be done by the beginning of September. I already have a bunch of things wrapped & transported to my parents (we live 8 hours away) from 4th of July, and am just working down my list. A lot of my gifts are handmade, so I especially wanted to get those done... mostly so I could get to making stuff for our own baby!
Before it was always my goal to have everything wrapped & done by Thanksgiving. With that being said, I "shop" or make year round - if I find something in December that I love for someone but am already done with them for that year, I'll save it for next year in my Christmas tote!

I am due Christmas Eve and with two DDs already, my planning has just started. We have an on-going list of things that have come up that they would like. I am also making a list of different meals to have made and fozen, including our traditional Christms breakfast (quiche, cinnamon rolls, sausage) so that can be ready to go.
I am really hoping to have everything done around Thanksgiving and then cross fingers that baby comes a couple days early so we will be home. We have decided as long as baby and I are doing well, we will leave the hospital early if we need to so we can be home for Cristmas.

@mrsmenow: The plan right now is for me to be induced around the 15th or so, so this way we know that barring something massive, we'll be home for Christmas. I just want to make sure that everything is done well before December.

I have my eyes peeled for a good price on a portable hard drive for my husband. Our parents are getting photo gifts so, those will come in December. We probably won't buy much for our lo, she will only be 6mo on Christmas. She won't really get it so it's not worth buying her too much. I'll let my parents take care of that.
This year we will see my brother, sil and nephew at Christmas. We don't want to spend a lot this year so I'm not sure what to get them, if anything.

I never start early. I am the person at the mall the day before Christmas. It never fails, no matter how organized I try to be.

@MaisyMay: Yes, its a similar thing. ours is called, " One Week Boutique" and its twice a year. They have a TON of stuff.

I haven't even started thinking about Christmas gifts.

I usually make a list and am done by the first week of December. I don't start earlier than November because I wait for sales & to see what my family members are asking for
DH & I love to go out on black Friday together after the morning rush, and it'll be fun to include LO this year!

wow MayisMay - you are incredibly on top of it & super impressive!
i've actually been thinking about how Christmas will fall when our LO is around 2 months old and how he will be my excuse to fully slack on gifts this year, but that's no good!
So I'll probably be doing a lot of online shopping!

Since I'm due in October we have started to plan on what we are getting people. Money will be tight with no maternity leave, so I have been picking things up here and there when I find them. Luckily our families are very understanding & don't expect too much & my siblings we only give gifts to the kids now not each other! That helps cut down a bunch!

Sometimes I try to be done by Thanksgiving, but sometimes I like to go through the early part of Dec.
LO is due around Tgiving this year -- so either I need to start next month or we won't be doing too many gifts this year~

I'm always the one doing rush shipping one week before Christmas... lol.

I do my shopping online about a month before Christmas. Will probably do the same this year. Get cards and gifts sent and ordered during the first week of December.

Wow - this is impressive. No matter when I start, I am always still at the mall the day before Christmas, always.

Actually, this is a great reminder that I need to get going on my shopping! I like to have it all done by November at the latest
My husband gets a bonus every late November and I'd like to use it on something for the house rather than Xmas presents. I better get on it!!

I'm due in November. I'm thinking there will be a lot of online shopping and gift cards in my Christmas future.

call me crazy, but I love the atmosphere of Christmas shopping! I've worked many years in various retail settings (American Eagle, Best Buy, Toys R Us..oh was that one fun!!) so it's kind of weird that I love it so much.
am I the only one? LOL..I cannot wait to go Christmas shopping with DH and LO!

I JUST FINISHED MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!
Ha. I'm shipping stuff directly from store to family. So everyone should have their Christmas gifts before Nov 1. Woohoo.
I'm sure they'll understand since baby is due 12/23!

I always do all my Christmas shopping 3 weeks before Christmas...I'm such a procrastinator!

I am vowing to change my behaviour this year, I will not be last minute shopping, largely because we will be out of town and I need to get stuff for our families in both locations!
My son will be three and his birthday is the 16th of December, so I won't be going nuts.
He will probably be getting a Jake and the Neverland Pirates play set of some sort and maybe a few accessories for his trains. I am in the process of updating his amazon wish list and deleting a bunch of stuff he's too old for now.
For my nephew, he'll be about 9 months old, so I have NO IDEA but I want it to be something fun, not useful.
