@Foodnerd81: hm ok, maybe I will do that! Also, do you find them heavy? It says they weigh 11 oz, vs like 5-6 oz of a ballet flat type shoe.

@hilsy85: I don't feel like they are heavy at all. They are sturdier than ballet flats, which I guess makes them heavier, but definitely not problematic.

not a city mama but I feel like I have the same problem! I hate wearing sandals to the park and getting sand all over my feet. And I like to wear sneakers so it's easier to chase after DS. I've been wearing my asics running shoes and I feel silly wearing them. SO not cute!
@hilsy85: what color Sperry's are you looking at? Also, my friend wore these Vans to the park today and I thought they were so cute! Much cuter than my ugly running shoes.

@hilsy85: I actually do not have any but my sister recommended them to me bc she loves them so much and said they are very comfy, etc.. I haven't ordered any yet because I can't make a decision on which one I want- there are sooo many to choose from!!

I've been wearing these as my Spring (and then later Fall) running around shoes and LOVE them. Super comfy and I wear them with dresses and pants.
But I think the sueded leather isn't good for summer--I wish I could find these in a different fabric. I think the style is classic with a hipster influence. I have them in gray.

@mrskc: I think either the linen/oat or a gray/silver. I'm torn between the blue fish or the angel fish (which seems more feminine and a little lighter?). @Anagram: I actually kind of forgot about salt waters! good call! Those sneakers are really cute too.

@hilsy85: I was looking at the angelfish too and they look more feminine to me too. I really like the linen/gold leo angelfish ones. Update with what you decide to get!

@hilsy85: If you are ordering from Zappos or similar, I would order both. I tried the angelfish, thinking I would like them better, but it turned out the bluefish looked better on. And I love my linen/oat ones
That said, I'm kinda considering getting a metallic pair of angelfish in hopes they look better with a skirt.

@hilsy85: The Sperrys do run big because mine are a full size smaller than normal. The sturdy rubber sole is what adds weight, but I think that's part of what makes them comfy too. They don't feel heavy to me, but I wouldn't call them light either.
I have these Audreys, but I love the metallic styles also.

@hilsy85: I ordered the M because they didn't have it in wide. I usually have wide feet so probably should've gone with wide in the first place!

Just wanted to update (for anyone who cares
that I ended up going with the sperry topsider angel fish with mesh sides (http://www.zappos.com/sperry-top-sider-angelfish-linen-oat). So far I really like them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for good summer walking shoes! Thanks for all the advice!
