My girl will be 4 in the fall and we still use ours almost every day. It's how we commute to daycare though.
On weekends, it's hit or miss. She often prefers her scooter now that it's nice out.

It's a little different since we have 2 now, but lo1 still uses it or wants to all the time at 3y3 m. We have a double and a Cruz ( if the bassinet is in lo1 gets piggy board, if seat lo2 is in carrier). Before lo2 was born 4 months ago we didn't use stroller for daily commute (took buses/subway) but I would use it a lot on non-work days. I think it depends on your routine though-- we regularly go places that are too close to take public transportation but like 15-20 min walk (so like, 10 blocks down and 2 avenues over, so you'd need to transfer). if you're only going a couple blocks most of the time then walking is easy

City is a stretch for us, but we are in a densely populated area and we walk everywhere. My daughter will be 4 in September and we use it everyday. I take the kids grocery shopping, to parks, to libraries, etc. She could walk to all these places but it would take forever and I just do not have that patience.
Sometimes I let her ride her bike (with training wheels) but I've found it's too dangerous to bring the stroller and risk letting it roll into the road while I'm stopping her from riding into the road. So if she bikes I babywear my 2 year old, and then I can't carry as much.

(Sorry) All the time. Especially if her baby sister is riding, she wants to too. It's super helpful with walks, shopping, busy streets, and leaving the playground.

My DD is 3.5 now and we still use the stroller frequently. We also live in a city with no car and walk or take transit everywhere. I imagine we will still keep it through the winter but hopefully be close to done with it in a year.

I think is really depends on your kid. LO1 hasn't willing sat in the stroller in 6 months (he's almost 2.5) LO1 is 9 months and in the stroller all the time. I thought we would need a big double but we haven't at all. I have a double umbrella I use for subway outings or other trips where I need to keep LO1 strapped in for safety (hes a runner) but daily around the neighborhood it's just the cruz with a buggy board. If i am just taking LO1 then out no stroller. He could walk for ages. Every kid if different. My friends 3.5 year old wont walk a block... so there's that.

All the time. He COULD walk, but it would just take forever, or he'd complain after a few blocks. We mainly used the ride on board for him though, he rarely sat in the actual stroller--but if it had only been him, I think we probably still would have used an umbrella stroller, or just had him ride his scooter everywhere, which many of my friends do. Kids just walk too slowly and I usually have places I need to be.
ETA is he still in a vista?? My LO would have been wayy too big (not just physically but just not babyish) enough to be in a full size stroller like that at 3.5. He never sits in that one anymore even if it's just him, without baby sister.

@hilsy85: my son is 2.75 now so he still could use it. But honestly I'm so over it that I haven't used it in a couple months. It's just taking up space in our entry way. His school stopped allowing stroller parking outside so I use the umbrella so I can fold it and put it inside the stairwell. And the umbrella (g-luxe) is so much easier to get in and out of stores and restaurants. BUT it's annoying to push (2 handed and just not great wheels).
He also LOVES walking. He has literally walked 2 miles nonstop without complaining or asking to be carried once.
I should really clarify the point of my post. I hate the vista. The only reason I've kept it is because we are trying for a 2nd (my FET is next Weds) and I was worried I'd need a double. But now if this works he'll be 3.5. Not the 2.5-3 that I originally thought when we first started trying a year ago. So I'm trying to figure out if I really still need it. Even if we have another baby I would love to just get rid of the vista and get a citymini or b-agile. I want to avoid a double like the plague if I can.
Basically I'm looking for justification to get rid of this thing even if we have another - like will I need a double? Or the buggy board? I'd love if he was just old enough at 3.5ish to not need either and just have a city mini and be done.
Am I making sense because I feel like I'm rambling?

@SweetiePie: I also have the g luxe and hate it. Honestly, if you are thinking you will have second baby I would invest in a new umbrella stroller now if you think that he still needs a stroller.I am planning on getting the yo yo when I am pregnant with #3 because between LO2 and LO3 I;m sure I will get good use out of it. If I were you, I would have no issue getting rid of the UB now, and getting an easier stroller (b agile, city mini, whatever)--because you'll still need something at times. And depending on what new stroller you get, you could possibly use it with a ride on board and newborn car seat adaptor or bassinet when you have LO2. At 3.5 years apart I doubt you would need a double stroller.

@SweetiePie: If I were you, I'd sell your vista, get a lighter single stroller that you love, and wait to see how old your LO will be when #2 arrives. I have gone through so many strollers and have had no issue getting rid of them when they've stopped working for us. In particular, I had a city select at some point, with the 2nd seat, in preparation for having another LO even though we weren't even trying yet. That stroller was so heavy and bulky that I ended up selling it within 6 months.
I know what you mean about the double. We have one and I actually really like it but it's wide and feels weird to push around the city (we have the b-agile double, so a side by side one). My everyday setup is a valco snap4 with our 6 month old in the carrier. Prior to that, we had a city mini GT (that was the replacement for our city select) but even that stroller was too heavy for me.

Baby2 was born when DD1 was 3.5 and we just got a ride-on board for our stroller. She didn't need it all the time, but we did use it for longer walks, the zoo, etc. OR I babywore and she sat in the stroller.

I'm a suburbs mom, but I was a city nanny, and only needed a single because I taught the older ones to walk and used a baby carrier when it was too far to be reasonable (three kids, 2.5 years apart each). Single city mini and a carrier all the way!!

@SweetiePie: if you're into baby wearing at all you may also find you don't need a double stroller. I have 5 month old and almost 3 year old (end of September she'll be 3) and I've yet to use the double stroller I bought. And I am out constantly with the 2! For play groups and play grounds I find wearing way easier than having baby in a stroller.

@Peasinapod: I wasn't super into it the first time around but I'm really interested if we have another. It seems way easier for things like the playground, as you said.
Buuuut don't want to get ahead of myself I guess first things first, I've determined that I can justify getting rid of the UBV for even my one and replace it with a yoyo or citymini. And that should still be OK if we end up having another. Either via babywearing or big boy walking or a buggy board.
I'll update if I ever do this on how it's going!

@catlady: Ok good to know that I wouldn't be the only one switching out strollers, possibly a couple times.
The thing that slightly complicates it is that my MIL got us the stroller. And she's very sensitive and I'm sure she'll be a little butt hurt that I don't want it anymore. If she didn't get it for us it would probably already be gone.

We are not in the city but walk a lot and sometimes go into the city. I hate to say it but my almost 5 year old still wants to go in the stroller all the time. He will walk to school or short walks to stores or the playground but for longer walks and when we go into the city for the day the stroller is a necessity

Rarely since 18 months. She walks everywhere now. I miss the convenience but she's over it.

Our LO has such little impulse control at 3.5, so we use the stroller when going through busier parts of our neighborhood (we live right off of a popular strip of restaurants/shops). If we go the other way into the neighborhood (with all of the houses), she just walks.

@SweetiePie: Does he scoot? If you can get him on a scooter, that might be a great stroller alternative. My kids are no longer city kids as of about 6 months ago, but when we left at 4.5 and 2.5, the older one would have ridden in the stroller all the time (but grudgingly agreed to walk shorter distances, or rode the buggy board pretty willingly). The younger one wanted to walk (but I didn't want her to, because she was all over the place) or ride the buggy board, but was pretty over the stroller. Since our move, both have become really competent scooters - were we still in the city, I'd wear our 8 month old and have the big girls scoot, for sure!

@SweetiePie: I'll let you know how it goes. We have a city mini and ill be using that for preschool drop off starting Aug 1. Hopefully dd (same age as your ds) will give up the stroller by the time the baby can sit up and ride more comfortably in the stroller.

Barely by 3yo. He mostly rides his bike or his scooter. At this point, the stroller is just for big excursions like the museum or the zoo when it's too much walking for him and/or I know he will need a nap on the go. If we had a second kid at this point I would not bother with a double stroller.
