We're preparing guidelines for the Classifieds, and wanted to write a section on shipping.
One thing I've noticed is that sometimes it's unclear if shipping is included or not. Or if shipping is included, how much it will be. So people will call dibs on an item, then back out because shipping isn't included.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?
We could potentially address this by asking people to mention whether or not shipping is included, and if it isn't - if the item is likely to be first class or priority.
[ ] Shipping is included in the price
[ ] Shipping is not included in the price
[ ] Package will probably fit in first class (under 13 ounces)
[ ] Package will be Priority
CANADA
Also, can someone explain to me how shipping to Canada (and vice versa) works? Sometimes someone will call dibs on something and then say that they're from Canada, and then shipping gets complicated. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated!
HANDLING
There have been a few cases where people have charged significantly more than shipping fees. Should we allow this? Or we could say that only flat fees (e.g. $5 for shipping) or actual shipping costs (e.g. whatever USPS charges) is allowed.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated on all this - thank you!!
