Did y'all do shorts and tshirts or just tshirt and diaper? We live in Southern IL, it gets hot and humid here I feel like this is one of the few times where shirt and diaper would be appropriate! Thoughts?
ETA: We camp every weekend and I was thinking for outside there its just so hot, I can't imagine putting shorts over his diaper but maybe thats just me.

Rompers, dresses, shorts & shirts. I'm not a fan of diapers as a bottom!

I never did diaper only outside the house. Dresses with bloomers, rompers, or shorts and a shirt.

@jetsa: Maybe I would if we were somewhere away from lots of people. Otherwise, I just want them covered up. We live in DC and LO and I still spend much of the summer where I grew up in south Alabama. I'm no stranger to heat and humidity, but it does seem to bother her.

@jetsa: I have a girl so we did what others have said. However there were times we matched the diaper to her shirt. No one ever commented on it. If we were camping I say go for it! I wouldn't want to add an extra layer just for asthetic purposes

For a boy, yes I think its totally ok, especially if you are outdoors and camping!
@autumnlove: but no one wants to cover up a cute cloth diaper bottom!

@jetsa: Also, I think it makes a difference if its a properly fitting shirt and just a diaper, or if its a shirt thats too short and there is belly hanging out. For me, at least make sure its a good fitting shirt that covers the belly!

How old is your LO? J was 4-6 months for his first summer and often in just a onesie. I bought several one piece romper says well.

I loved rompers last summer, but at home it was t-shirt and diaper. I would be worried about snagging my cloth diapers outside though...so now that he is running around we will probably do shorts this summer when we are out of the house.

We did diaper only/shirt at home over the summer, but I'd personally put shorts/pants on him when camping because he's so mobile/curious I'd want the extra layer. We found some great lightweight "gym" shorts for him and he wore those almost every day.

The first summer we did mostly rompers (predominantly Carter's ones, but old navy has lots of cute ones usually).
