I would get a few NB things. Even as a large baby, she was in NB for about 2-3 weeks.

I always went for full coverage even when home inside (August baby in FL). Meaning long sleeves, long pants with something on her feet. Socks at that age often seemed to either be too tight or too loose and would fall off so footed things were nice.

I was always fine with bottom snaps but some really love the side snaps. I would add a few gowns to make diaper changes easier.

Also, a few things with those fold over built in mittens are nice to help them from scratching their face. Again, mittens often are either too tight or too loose.

Xander lived in sleepers with a short-sleeve onesie underneath for... okay, he's still living in them... But he was born at 8 lbs 14 oz and outgrew the NB size around 2 weeks. For the first few weeks, he lived in a couple onesies and sleepers and hats and that was it! We used blankets in the car, so didn't need jackets or anything like that.

DD was born in fall in New England, which is chilly. the first several weeks DD lived in those fleece onesie sleeper sacks with the zipper and a onesie underneath. She averaged 12-15 diapers a day and it made things way easier, especially night wake ups, and kept her warm. We put her Halo swaddle sleep sack over it at night to keep her toasty. We used fleece footed outfits when going out in her carseat. Around 5-6 weeks she started to grow out of newborn sizes and now at 8 weeks wears 0-3 and even some 3+.
DD never stops moving so socks won't stay on her unless she wears tights underneath the socks.

@LovelyPlum: There is NB, and then 0-3. I look at how little they are now and laugh, but it did make a difference (the sizing between the two!) at those little times!! Different brands do it differently of course too, some just jump and don't "range", so some are just "3m". I ended up laying most of her stuff out and then ordering by length! She is an Oct baby, we are in Ontario, so distinct seasons, and lots of temp range I don't even want to count the short sleeve onesie's we received (at least 50, I am not kidding) that we never used as they were all NB and 3m'ish and it just didn't work with an Oct baby! The small part of me hopes our May babe is a girl just to wear those in the summer

@MapleMoose: +1, those were great in early days and we definitely used them the most overnight!

LO just grew out of NB size between 7-8 weeks (and she was born the day after her due date, at 7 lbs 12 oz.) She might still be wearing them too if she wasn't soooo tall! There's really no way to know if you'll need NB and for how long. I recommend getting 0-3 and NB sizes secondhand- I bought big bundles of both and was so glad I did. They got puked/poo'd on and I didn't feel too bad about it, and we had a lot of variety. I expected her to be out of NB size in a week or two, so I was glad to have them when she kept fitting in them for so long!

Also I LOVE babylegs. SO EASYYYY. And probably good for the unpredictible Spring weather.

I would get several sleep gowns with built in mitts -- same with any long sleeve onsies-- my LO's hands and wrists were and are too small for those slip on mittens-- she was 6lbs 8oz at birth

My LO is 3 weeks old and we've been having him live in side snap t-shirts and sleep n plays. I personally prefer the zip sleep n plays because it takes me forever to do up the snaps. DS also HATES being dressed and undressed so stuff that goes on and off quickly is key for us. He was also a bigger baby, born at 8lbs 5.5 oz, and I don't see him growing out of newborn for another couple weeks. 3m stuff is HUGE on him.
