I wouldn't bother. People buy what they want for clothes - and from experience buying gifts for others, the clothes they choose to register for are NOT usually easy to find in the store! It's always listed in some crazy code, and impossible to locate.

You could put a couple different sizes of plain white onesies, or something, but even those weren't bought off my registry.

I agree that it's hard to find the specific clothes on someone's registry, and people that tend to buy baby clothes are typically the ones who wait last-minute, don't look at the registry, and buy what they want. I know that's what I do when it's last-minute.

Yes. I did not want a lot of clothing but I knew people would buy clothing so I thought buy putting a few gender neutral items people would get the hint. Not so much, I still got a ton, if not most, of PINK items.

Please don't. Let's just say I had 2 showers (both BIG like 25+ people) and I didn't register for a single piece of clothing (or socks or bibs) and guess what? I got A TON of clothing, socks and bibs.
But, I did get every-single-item on my registry as well. The people who brought clothing brought it as an "extra" item after getting me something off my registry (which was awesome!)

@sorrycharlie: if I can just comment on the onesie situation...I think it's a good idea. However, I think it depends on where you're registered.
I registered at BRU and their onesies were SO overpriced that I couldn't justify registering for them, especially for those who didn't have coupons. I got my carter's onesies (same as BRU's) from Macy's on a major sale.

@TurtleDoves: yeah, bru is INSANE for clothes! they wanted $20 for a carter's fleece one-piece footie sleeper. I almost died. I registered for the plain white onesies at target.

The only clothes I registered for were plain white onesies, like others said. I got a TON of clothes, I don't even think my LO was able to wear them all. Keep in mind if you don't like what you get you can always take them back, honestly I wish I would have done that.

@TurtleDoves: i HOPE this happens (clothes plus our registry things) but i know with baby girls people just can't help themselves and must buy clothes. my neighbor is having a boy and she got so.many.clothes! i am not registering for ANY clothes and have the onesies we want in another wish list. i'd rather buy those than the other things that we need.
