That statement weird for a 25 year old woman to say but I really am. I am still holding on to some baby chub. I am probably about 50lbs heavier than I would ideally like to be. I can't exercise too much because I have a heart condition, so diet is really my main option for cutting back on my weight and getting healthier.

I am finally starting to come out of the fog of PPD and get some motivation to change. I was exercising regularly for a couple months before my cardiologist told me to take it easy (I have a condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White. I have episodes of tachycardia and dizziness when I stress myself too hard). I have managed to cut down about 2.5" from my waist. and maybe 5-10lbs since March. I know I havent made enough of a change though.

I am going to say flat out before anything else. I do not wish to nor am I willing to go paleo. Its not for me. I know a lot of you love it, but I'm just not going to go there.

So my question... where the hell do I start? Is there a book I can read? Some kind of diet program I can try? Cookbook? Anything? I'm not looking for a fad diet or a quick fix, I just want to be healthy and slimmer.

And please, more in depth than "eat fruits, veggies and lean meat. Don't eat junk food or drink soda." I grew up in a household where we didn't eat the greatest (soda, lots of boxed meals, etc), so I truly have not been able to figure out what "healthy" eating is.
