In this pinterest-fueled age, obviously we all try to provide our mini's with comfort AND style. But, just wondering, for the most part, do you choose comfort OR style, when dressing LO for the day?

Comfort. The only time style wins is if it's a special occasion. I prefer comfort over style!

comfort all the way. I rarely dress LO in fancy clothes, usually only special occassions. She's almost always in a t-shirt and comfy shorts.

Comfort! That's why Xander wore sleep 'n plays for the first year of his life, haha. Nothing says "we don't have style" more than sending your kid to school in his pjs every day!
Now I just try to find CUTE comfy clothes. Xander mostly wears rompers and/or shirts with sweatpants. I just can't bear to put him in jeans or other uncomfortable looking clothes. Especially since he has to nap in them!

people are always asking me why I don't put her in more girly dresses- 1) skinned knees 2) ruffles itch 3) full/stiff skirts are super uncomfortable in carseats/high chairs, etc.
Jeans and tees work for us!

Comfort, for sure. DS isn't too picky about what he wears but I rarely put him in anything that isn't super comfortable because I just don't see a need to.

The only time I choose style over comfort is for pictures, but everyday wear is all about comfort, so she can nap and play!

Comfort for sure. I don't like being uncomfortable, so I'm not making him uncomfortable just so that he looks cute.

Comfort all the way. LO doesn't own anything that wouldn't be comfortable.

Comfort but cute!
I see blogs and IG pic and while the kids look cute in their outfit, it doesn't look like they are comfortable to run around and play in.

Comfort! And now at almost 2 1/2 she cries when I put jeans on her. I guess comfort wins

@lavender: my LO is weird; she likes jeans. But then daddy wears jeans when we lounge because he thinks it's comfortable. Weirdo.

Comfort and function, especially now that he's potty trained. It eliminates a lot of pants when there are buttons and zippers to contend with.

@locavore_mama: I wish my LO liked jeans, I have sooo many jeans, jean skirt and jean shorts that just sit there. I even struggle with jeggings! It is soo annoying. I will usually bribe her with my phone to get jean shorts on her, or I need to distract her when I get her dressed. And when she does have them on, she won't even notice them. haha And jeans are not lounge worthy! Your hubby is a weirdo j/k

Both? I like to think I buy her cute and functional clothing.
But I guess, more comfort.

I also say both. It's important to me that she looks cute and is wearing nice clothes (especially now while I still have control over what she wears!) But I don't even buy anything that's stiff or hot or uncomfortable. Even for holidays my priority is to find something stylish and comfortable.

I voted comfort; but I don't think it had to be either or. Stylish also doesn't have to mean "fancy" or "dressy". You can be frumpy all dressed up and super stylish dressed down in comfortable clothes!

@JerricaBenton: agree - I don't buy uncomfortable clothes for LO; dressy dresses are soft with no scratchy layers, jeans/leggings are soft and moveable denim, etc.

Her clothes are comfy, but cute and stylish. She has lots of people who make sure of it (i.e. grandmas)!

Definitely for comfort! I haven't really gotten to buy hardly any clothes for LO because we were gifted so many she has no need-- but I almost never put her in her cute dresses. Mostly just for short photo-ops. #Onesies4life. (Although the onesies with the skirts sewn on are perfect and I them)

I must be the weird one - I totally pick style first. DS is only 18m and will wear anything still. I figure I may as well pick what I like before he gets picky!

For daycare, I send her in comfortable clothing. no hoodies because it makes nap time uncomfortable. Soft cotton clothing. Also it makes washing easier because I don't have to worry about hand washing. For birthdays, holidays and church I do dress her in dresses or cuter clothing, but they're all still comfortable.

Comfort, unless it's a special occasion in which case I'll put them in something fancy for the photo op and then change them!

@birdofafeather: Same, I voted for style, but none of DS's clothes are "uncomfortable" - he wears skinny jeans and other more structured trousers though, which I suppose fall under the "stylish" category. He's never bothered by them though, otherwise I wouldn't put him in them!

Definitely comfort! If it's a special occasion sometimes style will win, but it doesn't last long anyways.

I think I buy cute but comfortable clothes. For daycare though, comfort will definitely win out.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Definitely comfort since he'll be wearing it all day or when we're going on trips. However, style does win when it's a special occasion or photo shoot!

@ValentineMommy: @birdofafeather: @Beehive: I voted style too, because I try to buy things that are cute, but aren't restrictive. LO's also 9 months and will wear whatever we put on her.

definitely both. I buy clothes that are comfortable for him, but I won't buy them if they're also not cute. I feel like these days it's really easy to find cute basics (like Gap's playtime basics) that are cute and comfy. Everything he wears he can run, climb, and play in.

Is playability a word? It bugs me when I see kids in things too uncomfortable to play in. Little ones should be exploring and getting dirty!

I have admitted many times, but I spend far, far too much on my kids clothing. Far too much. But I buy mostly clothes that are built for PLAY! It is a Canadian company that makes super stylish, but all about play clothing. So maybe I can say both? I buy them because they can play so well in them...but I love them because they are so darn cute!

Both! I go for cute and comfy. I want LO to look adorable as well as be comfortable.
pomegranate / 3503 posts
Comfort. They wouldn't even wear it if it's not comfortable. It's hard for me to choose at all for my daughter because she likes to pick her own clothes.
