I have an uncle who insists on drawing my husband into controversial conversations that he knows they will disagree on. We don’t see extended family that often, but have a gathering in a couple of weeks and also, unfortunately this uncle has even resorted to doing this on facebook! I feel like its borderline harassment. My uncle is constantly trying to ‘call my husband out’ on his opinions and unfortunately, my uncle is not the brightest bulb in the light, and resorts to sarcastic, truly unintelligent comments. He displays no real interest in my husband’s thoughts, just seems to want to try his best to ‘prove him wrong’. Anyway, I can’t stand it and am coming close to telling my uncle to take a hike.

Have you ever successfully navigated this kind of scenario and have any advice for dealing with my annoying uncle without resorting to coming down to his level?
