We had a monthly cleaning service in Boston, in a one bed, one bath, 850 sq ft apt and we paid $80 a month. We stopped it when we moved but I want it back! I feel like that might have been a little high.

I live in Boston too (Savin Hill) and we have a 975 square foot condo and we pay $75 every other week. Best $$ spent ever!! Ever. Life changing. My husband and I were just talking last night and how it makes us so happy to be able to spend the weekends not worrying about a dirty house so we can enjoy time together with our family.

We are starting with a new lady next week. She is charging $90 for 1,800 square feet, 4 bedrooms, and 3 full baths. We have a bathroom in the basement, but since the bathroom is the only thing finished down there, no one uses it. So we just spot clean that one ourselves.

We had a company coming, and they charged $70 an hour and it took 2 hours to clean the house.

My cousin was just telling me their cleaning person is $50 every other week for their 3 bed 2 bath ~1500 sq ft house in the burbs of Massachusetts.

@Mrs. Mochi: unloads your dishwasher?!?! Wow, that's awesome. We get our sheets changed and then our bed feels like a hotel bed it is made so nicely. And we leave dishes in the sink that she washes.. coming home every other Wednesday is wonderful!
We had a referral too-- trusting someone in your home with all of your stuff requires a little faith. My brother in law referred our cleaning lady and we love her.
We were in Home Depot recently and a couple heard us talking about our cleaning lady (I think we were buying a new toilet seat cover, fun)-- and then they asked for her contact info! So we gave it to them and expanded her business.
I would ask neighbors.

I live in San Diego and was referred by friends our lady who is $60 per visit for a 600 sq ft house. She does everything from cleaning the inside of the fridge, to dishes to windows, probably because our house is so small! We love it. I never thought is be into it but its amazing having everything clean at once!

I just got a quote and we have someone starting next week! She cleans two of our neighbors places and they like her so that's how we found her...

Her quote was $85 to come 2x a month - 2 bed/2 bath/3 floors --- i thought that was decent, if not a little high actually. but she's highly recommended and we're listing our home so we're going to need the help!

I live in New England as well. We used to have a woman come and clean our house once per month (unfortunately we stopped when DH was cut to part time hours at work). She charged $100 for our 1400 sq. foot house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. She did a great job! I found her price to be much more reasonable than the quotes I was getting from cleaning services that had more employees.

Ours is $70 every other week for a 1500 sq ft house in the Chicago suburbs. I think it's a pretty good price and they usually do an awesome job. (Except last week was terrible...it was a different lady and she was AWFUL. I could have done what she did during one of LO's catnaps!)

We live in TX and pay $65 for someone to come every other week and clean downstairs (approx 1800 sqft.) She will do the whole house for $80, but right now, the upstairs is just our offices and a guest room so we mostly do it ourselves.

She does floors, bathrooms, changes out the sheets, dishes, laundry, dusting, kitchen, etc. She is the friend of the wife of the yard guy.

We're in San Diego. Our housekeeper charges $120 per visit. Our townhouse is about 1,000 sq.ft with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. She comes every 3 weeks or so.

We were in the market for a new person after we figured out that the previous company we used was stealing some of our controlled substance Rxs we had because of my anxiety and DH's back surgeries. Our current lady is the mother of one of DH's coworkers. She cleans a bunch of other cops' homes so we felt like we could trust her straight away.
