We are doing a femara/ovidrel/IUI this cycle. On CD4, we did my initial scan. He told me to start femara that night and repeat the scan in one week. When I went to schedule, I found out they couldn't get me in before work. I asked the RE about the following day (CD12) and that if possible, I'd like to do the IUI CD15 since I was off work CD15. He said that probably Worked better and told me to start the femara a day late (CD5) and scan will be CD12. I ovulate on my own CD15, and last cycle we did femara/ovidrel and had the IUI onCD13. Now I'm worried that I will ovulate too soon, shortly after the ovidrel. Will the ovidrel keep me from ovulating CD13-14 if I take it CD13?

You should o 36 hours after ovidrel. I don't know how it stops your own body from o'ing, but everything I've read says the same thing, 36 hours... Good luck! I remember worrying about the exact same thing when I did IUI.

I feel like they have a lot of control with the meds, so sounds like it will be ok. I've heard the same--that the trigger is designed to release at 36 hours.

Your normal cycle w/o meds shouldn't even be considered because the meds will control this cycle. The doctor will do a few ultasounds to ensure you don't ovulate before. Are you doing a trigger shot? I did IUI's 24 hours and 48 hours after my trigger shots. But - neither IUI cycle worked for me, so what do I know?
But I wouldn't let one morning of work get in the way of your cycle. Try to just do what the doctor suggests.

Update: my ultrasound showed 20 mm and 22 mm follicles. He had me trigger that night and said the pregnancy rates are the same at 12 and 36 hours after trigger. We did the IUI the next day due to DH's work schedule.

Yes, yesterday morning about 15.5 hours after trigger. We BD last night and will try to again after work to give it our best shot.

It will keep you from ovulating as long as you haven't already started to surge when you take the ovidrel. My first iui was late because I started to surge the day I took my ovidrel, and I ended up ovulating the next day.
But I wouldn't let one morning of work get in the way of your cycle. Try to just do what the doctor suggests.
