You ladies are so wonderful. I'm so appreciative of the love and support I receive here at Hellobee!
I believe I've stopped spotting, so I think that's a good sign. I'm about to head to my appointment, so I'll definitely update you ladies after and let you know how it goes! Keeping my fingers crossed!

You girls are so wonderful! *hugs*
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you all. As soon as I got back to work after my appointment, I got dragged into a meeting!
Anyway... my appointment seemed to go well. The nurse that I spoke to didn't sound overly concerned. I DID start spotting again though - I had to give a urine sample so they could confirm the pregnancy and there was more brown blood when I did that. The nurse did an exam and she also noticed some "brown discharge" that she cleaned up for me. She told me that my cervix was still closed, so I wasn't actively having a miscarriage and that everything looked fine. She told me there were a few reasons I could be seeing blood and that it's probably nothing to worry about, but she did have me give blood so they could do some tests and I have a "viability scan" tomorrow. I'm not sure if they'll tell me at that appointment if everything looks good or if I'll have to wait for a doctor to call me, but I'm hoping that sometime tomorrow I'll know if everything's fine or not.

@Adira: Oh I'm so glad for good news and hoping for continued good news! A closed cervix is very promising!
How are you emotionally? Scared and stressed or hanging in there ok? Sometimes the emotional part can be worse than the physical aspects...

Thank you ladies!!! I will definitely keep everyone updated on what happens tomorrow! I was soooo bummed they couldn't fit me in today (well, technically they had something available for the middle of the day, but I had already missed so much work and I have two more appointments coming up, that I didn't feel comfortable taking it). I know that it's normally a tech that does the ultrasound and they're not supposed to tell you anything, but I hope that if everything looks okay, they DO tell me. I don't know how long I'll have to wait to find out the results.
@beka: I'm okay I think, haha. I was doing fine and feeling really positive this morning, but then I saw more blood and started to totally freak out! You know how when you're at the doctor's and you're just waiting in the exam room to come in? They really shouldn't let me do that because my mind was just RACING and I just kept praying that everything was okay! Hearing that my cervix was closed DEFINITELY was a relief, and my nurse was sooooo reassuring and she really seemed to believe that everything was probably fine. So I think I'm cautiously optimistic. I just want to go to the ultrasound tomorrow and hopefully get good news! I think as long as there is a heartbeat, I'll feel sooooooo much better, haha.

Oh, I forgot to mention this. The nurse also said that since the cramping I was experiencing was mild and not severe or intense, then it's probably just my uterus expanding, and not anything worrying. Obviously until they do the ultrasound, they won't actually know what's going on, but she seemed to think my symptoms sounded fairly normal and that I was probably okay. So I have my fingers crossed!

Keeping positive thoughts coming your way. I know when my friend had a problematic ultrasound the doctor came in right away to tell her rather than making her wait. When I had my last U/S the tech stepped out and checked with the doctor before releasing us just so we wouldn't have to wait for results; hoping they do the same for you (either way).
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@purrpletulips: Oh yes, I hope you're right and they do the same for me! I know that with my doctor's office, any of your lab results will be available on-line for you to review, so often they don't tell you stuff if everything's fine because you can just look at the results yourself. My nurse did say that she'd make sure I didn't find out on-line if something was wrong though. Hopefully I find out immediately (or soonish) either way.

@Adira: Hoping you get some results online, then. I've been thinking of you so hope all turns out well!

So glad that things are looking good! Closed cervix is definitely a good sign! My doctor just told me that cramping is perfectly normal too, when I asked her about mine. Keep us posted about your ultrasound tomorrow!!! Will keep you in my thoughts!

When it comes to cramping, it's "period-like" cramping that concerns them the most. If the cramping tends to be localized to one side or not as low down as period cramping, it's less worrysome.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MaisyMay: Thanks for that tid-bit! For me, it's hard to know what's normal or not because I generally don't experience much cramping during my period (I know, I know, I'm lucky). So I don't know if these are period-like or not. I just know they are mild and they do seem localized to one side, so that sounds like its less worrysome.

That sounds like good news! I don't know how it goes in your office, but the ultrasound tech in our office is fully certified or whatever, so she's the one who tells you on the spot what's going on. I think if there's something problematic, she would go get the doctor but if it's just "this is great, here's the baby, here's the heartbeat," then you don't have to wait for a doctor. But I know not all offices are like that. Hope you don't have to wait too long either way!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ladyfingers: Oh man, I hope the same is true at my doctor's office! I hope that if everything looks good, they'll just tell me immediately. If I have to wait for a doctor, I'm going to be FREAKING out and assume the worst!!! Either way, I'll definitely let everyone know! Tomorrow can't come soon enough!

@Adira: glad to hear so far, so good! I've never had a miscarriage, but as far as the cramping, I had period-like dull cramps for almost my entire first trimester and everything was fine (no bleeding, though). So I think no matter what, if you're worried, to check with the doctor because every case is so different.
