I am currently! I am 5'7", and DH is 5'5". For the most part it is ok, though I do get self conscious if I am wearing heels because I am a GIANT. Luckily we don't have many fancy, heel-wearing events to attend so it works out!

In highschool one of my boyfriends was the same height if not a bit shorter than me. It was awkward and I didn't like it.

Same as @.twist. and I didn't like it.

I kind of feel sorry for ladies who have to wear flats on their wedding day just so as not to be taller. I love that even wearing the most gigantic heels I'll never be close to DH's height.

I have dated someone who was shorter than me and I had major internal struggle over this. He was also a different race so I felt like we had a spotlight on us. I had more angst about his height!

I'm only 5'1 and I honestly don't think I could be with someone smaller than that. Our kids would be doomed. DH is already short, even though he's taller than me, and we're just grateful that we're having a girl!

@MrsBrewer: haha! I'm 5'0" so my boyfriend in highschool was a major shorty!!!! I really hope he had a growth spurt...

@mrbee: I'm sure they are. When the times comes, little things like that are so insignificant. I just know of a few friends who've struggled to find nice flats and wished they could have worn pretty heels. Having said that I remember taking mine off as soon as it was appropriate... ouch!

Oh, one of my friends posted an article once that short men have to make something crazy like 30,000 more dollars a year for every inch they are under 5'10 to make up for their shortness in the dating world.

The same article also said that short men are more discriminated against (in the dating world) than overweight women.

And I'd like to think that I'm more open minded than that...but then I look at my dating history and see that I'm probably not.

DH is only an inch taller so I don't wear heels. But that's ok I don't really like them. I wore flip flops to my wedding, and my feet never hurt!!

Most people I have dated have been at least an inch or more taller. But it's hard. I'm a tall lady. I'm 5'10

I feel like DH is shorter than me now. There's like a 3-4" difference but I'm used to taller guys.

@Mrs. Pen: bahahaha for our wedding I tried to get DH to wear those man high heel shoe insert things. It was a no go!

Well, DH and I are pretty much the same height and often I am taller in heels. I don't care anymore. We actually get more attention because we look nothing alike (interracial marriage), so it doesn't matter because I figure we're going to get looks or confuse people anyway. I did wear flat sandals on my wedding day, but I think I might done that anyway given that we got married in one of the hottest parts of the year. Also I've dated skinny tall men, and I much prefer that my DH's body than a bean pole.

I wouldn't. DH is 2.5 inches taller than me and I always have to wear flats.

I don't know many people shorter than me, I'm 5 feet tall, so I've never really thought about it.

I don't think I could be in a relationship where the guy was shorter than me. I'm short as is (5'2")!

I honestly can't imagine since I'm 5"2 I've never met a guy shorter than me who has gone through puberty! DH is a foot taller than me but I've dated guys who were considered short.

This has never been an issue for me since I"m only 5'1". But I do feel bad for shorter men since I think most women prefer taller men. I once went on a dating sight and a guy who claimed to be 5'8" turned out to barely be taller than me in real life and I was more turned off by the fact that he lied to be honest.

I never realize how much taller my DH is than I am until I see a picture of us, I think the first time I realized it was when we got our wedding pictures back! Even though I was wearing 4 inch heels he was still almost a foot taller!

My DH is a bit shorter than me. He doesn't mind at all. I think I'm the one a bit more insecure about it. I feel weird wearing heels and towering over him. I've gotten over it over the years tho. And I don't like to wear heels anyways.

@illumina: I wore practically flats on my wedding day and it didn't bother me one bit. It was hard to find a cute pair, but I'm not a heels kind of gal.
