Very good question, I think if it came down to it and my life or my child's life would be in danger, I would definitely be able to shoot someone. I would do anything to protect myself or children.

Yes. I wouldn't enjoy it, but I'd do it. I think I have a really high sense of self preservation. If I felt my life was in danger I'd rather the criminal die than I die.

hells yes. i'd be simultaneously having an anxiety attack and crying uncontrollably (not so good under pressure), but no one messes with me or my family.

If my family was under attack, heck yeah. I wouldn't even hesitate.

Yes. I would, of course, hope that just the threat of the gun would be enough to stop an attack, but if not, I would use it.

I'd probably need therapy afterwards but yes - if my family or I was in danger, I could.

It's not something that I ever want to do, but if I had a child, it would be my responsibility to protect it - so yes, I would. My husband travels for work frequently and I always keep my (loaded) gun next to my bed when he is gone.

Hell yeah! Maybe it's because I grew up in the country.LOL ANY unauthorized person in my home is subject to be shot 1st, questioned later.

I've never even held a gun but I would answer yes - if I had a gun and someone was threatening my family.

My husband and I were talking about this in relation to the death penalty (which they don't have in the UK anymore).
We was saying that while he could imagine killing someone in the instance of an intruder breaks in and is coming at me with a weapon, he couldn't imagine wanting someone put to death (after the fact) for killing me.
I think it's an interesting distinction.

Nope. I'd never have a gun in the house, so it wouldn't be an option (and it's illegal in Canada). I do think I'd hit someone over the head with my big cast iron frying pan if there was a threat though.
