I am getting more and more anxiety about being a full-time WOHM and raising two kids almost back to back while pretty much totally solo parenting!

My DS is a superstar baby. Happy, happy, happy all the time...so I am praying DD will be too. But, this morning I was getting him dressed thinking, "OMG, I am going to have to get two kids out the door and myself alone every morning!"

Seriously. Talk me down off the edge! I won't even get started on my nightmares about going into labor and no one being available to take care of DS!

awww I don't WOH, but I solo 2 all the time. DH travels.
It wasn't fun in the beginning, but I'm a pro now! You'll do great!

I think because you have already dealt with doing the epically difficult task of solo parenting while WOH--like a BOSS, I might add--, that you're going to be a pro--or at least a semi-pro!--when it comes to integrating this baby. Seriously. You've already wrapped your arms around a serious porcupine, so to speak, so I think maybe the toughest part will be timing naps/sleep?

@chopsuey: I was totally hoping you would chime in . . . I can only imagine that there would be a steep early learning curve, but that it would even out pretty quickly.

Gee I can't wait to try and get 2 kids down for naps and bed! OMG!

But...I do think, okay I have a 15 month old and a year ago was a newborn, it's flown by--therefore, I'll basically be back to sleeping at night again in another year, RIGHT?! HA HA HA!!

@matador84: Totally! Either that or you will learn to sleep walk . . . ? Don't get me wrong, I would be at least slightly panicked mahselfs . . . but when I think about having 2 LOs to hold and hug and squeeze . . . I'm just a big ol' puddle of melted butter.

@matador84: I had major anxiety about going into labor and not having anyone to look after DD too. I was 3cm 90ish% effaced from 36 weeks and my DH was traveling so .. kill me!
It was stressful, but it all worked out.
The first 6 weeks were hard, but once we got the baby on a schedule life got a lot easier.
Double naps happened all the time too! Putting both down at night took some crazy ninja skills and sometimes the baby had to cry, but it's okay! He doesn't remember! lol.
He'll be 1 in a few weeks and he self weaned, is sttn and all is well. omg we (almost) survived the first year.

Lots of support here when baby 2 arrives for you!!

I do it all week, but I don't work outside the home so I don't have any advice there. I am sure you will figure it out!

@chopsuey: I am honestly having nightmares about what to do with DS when I go into labor! With him I was 100% effaced and dilated to a 1 from 36 weeks until I had him at 40 weeks. DH works 85 miles away and it takes a little over an hour to get to town.

I had DH in less than 3 hours and I don't want him to miss the birth! I'm trying to come up with a contingency plan if I go into labor at work, and DS is at daycare, the carseat is in my car, and what we would do with him....my worst nightmare! Or I go into labor at night like I did with him (water broke) and I have no one to watch him!

@matador84: yikes!!!! feeling stressed for you too!!! I'm sure it'll all work out! do you have family or friends close by?
