Bee and I were just talking about this! I think I'd be fine with Charlie for a week (or indefinitely actually, although I'd have to learn how to make the soups and meals that Bee makes for him).
I would have a tough time doing a week with Olive on my own though. And if I had both the kids on my own, I think I would cry.
Could your SO survive for a week with an LO on their own?

I know DH could do it. I, on the other hand, would be a huge mess being away from LO & DH for that long, I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

Definitely! He would be fine. I would probably have to cook some things beforehand to make sure that DD had healthy food to eat...otherwise he can do everything else.

I would be able to do it, but I might break down a few times. DH could probably last a few days, but a week is too long.

I don't think so. DH is great with DS but he doesn't hear him cry at night so that would not work out.

DH is currently watching LO M-Th while I'm at work. I think he could do it--with many phone calls to me. Plus a few lessons on night time duties because I bathe her and put her to bed.

DH could easily take care of DD full-time on his own. I think it'd be more of a struggle to do both kids on his own, but I struggle with that sometimes, too!

Hahahahah. initially I think "I doubt it" but I know he would figure it out because he loves our son. Plenty of less equipped people figure out how to not let the kid die all day long. But he would miserable. Of course I was miserable for the first week or three, so it's pretty equal.

He's done it with both for my business trips several times. He's amazing.
I'm more scared of when I'm going to be on my own while he goes on his annual camping trip this year!

We don't have an LO yet, but I know he could handle it. He takes great care of his nieces and nephews and essentially raised a couple of them. Almost adopted the oldest one, but then his sister changed her mind. So yes, I think he will be amazing, and would have no problem watching the LO for extended periods of time. I wouldn't be TTC at this point if he couldn't, because I'm starting grad school in the fall and will have to leave for a few days at a time every semester.

NO. haha. at least not at first. maybe by the time our lo is 9 months or a year. he hasn't even ever changed a diaper before, so he's got quite the learning curve.

My hubby could definitely handle one LO on his own for a week and I'm even willing to bet he could handle both if he had to. I certainly wouldn't approve of the outfits he would put them in but I have no doubt they would be happy and healthy!

I don't think so. He's never had to take care of LO for a whole 24 hour period by himself yet.

He can definitely handle one. I don't think he would want to watch both but if he had to, I think he can handle it. I suspect there will be a lot of iPad playing involved though.

I don't think so, MAYBE 1-3 days at most. I always ask hubs what he'd do if I suddenly dropped dead one day and he shrugged. SIGH.

I think so. He would certainly be much more stressed out but he could do it.
ETA: I need to retract my statement. My husband just asked if we could let our 6 week old cry it out.

Possibly but he doesn't like when I'm gone for a couple hours outside of nap time so I doubt he'd be willing to give it a try.

The taking care of our son part he could probably handle. I think it would be all of the other stuff- cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, etc- that he would be overwhelmed with.

Definitely! He's fantasic with LO on his own. He's great at feeding her and changing her, even though he had no experience with infants before/diaper changing. The only part he isn't good at/hates to do is to put her outfits on so she might rock just a diaper and blankets all week lol

Probably not. He has one night with her alone and that's the night she doesn't get bathed. Its not ok to not have a bath for a whole week.

I don't think, maybe a day? SO gets freaked when lo cries and he doesn't know what to do to calm her. I think probably when she is a little older he will have an easier time with her.

LO isn't born yet but I'm sure that he could do it. DH is great with kids of all ages and has been around babies so he knows how to take care of them. It would be a challenge but I have no doubt that it would be okay. I don't think I'd want to leave either of them for that long though!! I may change my mind after the little guy is here though

Dh can do Mavrick alone. Sienna alone probably not. (he's not a newborn phase type of guy) and both kids... forget about that.

DH already takes care of LO during the day (WAHD) so I'm pretty sure he'd be fine. However, a week away would also mean he'd be doing everything, so while he CAN survive, I don't know how happy he'd be by the end of it.

@krsmall: ha, nice. Actually, he's better at hearing her sometimes than I am. If I have just fallen asleep, I am usually dead to the world. That's when he hears her first and has to shake me to get me up.

haha no!! DH still panics after a few hours. It's better now that DS is older, but he still doesn't trust himself to know what to do.
