When does dry skin cross over into cradle cap territory?
DD 2 was born with dry flaky skin on the top of her head. Now it's only on the very top / tip of her head.

My LO had a few patches of super scaly skin on her scalp at one point when she was tiny...I remember at a recommendation on here, I used a little coconut oil on the dry spots and a very fine tooth comb and the flakes came off in the comb and never came back. It was amazing!

@PrincessBaby: same here. The flakes were really thick and oily. Coconut oil and gently scrubbing with the soft baby hair brush got rid f them.

Yeah, cradle cap is a little yellow-ish usually with thicker scales/flakes than regular dry skin

Really thick, scaly and yellowy. Lots of oil to soak the head and combed it out.

Our girl had a bad case of it the first time we drove the next province over to meet her other grandparents. I brushed her hair a lot to loosen the dry skin up and eventually it all flaked away, although I would have used her baby oil if I'd brought it with us that week.
