DS (5) has always dealt with cradle cap on and off. The pediatrician recommended we treat it with olive oil, which works pretty well, but I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions about shampoo, etc. that might help keep it at bay. Thanks!

Ds had cradle cap until he was 3ish. I started using the mustela cradle cap shampoo and it went away quickly. We used it for about a year and it has never come back. He’s 5 now

+1 to the mustela products. We used the infant shampoo for years! And the cream to remove when needed.

Ugh, my son's was really bad until he was 6. We used Head and Shoulders almost every day for a week straight - letting it sit on his head for a minute or so before washing it out. It worked great and didn't irritate his scalp. It's been totally gone since then.

So my 3 year old had cradle cap her whole life and we never really did anything about it. I used this a few months ago and it still has not come back. And just the act of using it was so satisfying: https://www.target.com/p/fridababy-dermafrida-the-flakefixer-3-step-cradle-cap-system/-/A-76474056?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012735142&CPNG=PLA_Baby%2BShopping_Local%7CBaby_Ecomm_Baby&adgroup=SC_Baby_Low%2BMargin&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9031951&targetid=pla-1030584751616&ds_rl=1242884&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8ebEhdC_8AIVYR6tBh3npwi0EAQYASABEgJE6_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

My 7 year old just had a flare up and I used coconut oil to loosen the flakes and then the mustela shampoo.

We swear by this stuff! Been using it for years (since DD was a newborn). It cleared away her cradle cap immediately. I find it even works on dry scalp and dandruff!
This past winter, my scalp was exceptionally dry and I ran out of my tea tree shampoo, so I tried DD's Weleda. I was surprised by how well it works on my own scalp!

Same! We saw a pediatrician for my 6.5 year old that prescribed a medicated oil. I think steroid or something? It was so messy but it finally cleared it up and kept it resolved for the first time in his entire life. We’ve tried every oil, head and shockers, nizoral, anti fungal, you name it. We use a natural tea tree oil shampoo for regular washing.

Thank you all so much! I'm going to start checking things out. Really appreciate the advice and suggestions.
