We bought the Delta Convertible crib so that we can turn it into a toddler bed and twin bed in the future.
It is sturdy and hefty and beautiful...HOWEVER, the railing doesn't come down which will be annoying for me because i'm 5'3". The mattress does move up and down so that you can adjust it to your height though.
I got it for $260.00 from diapers.com...free shipping and no tax...plus all new customers get 10% off:)
Here's a pic:
It also has a matching dresser/changer. I like that because it's not just a changer so when he gets older, we can move the changing mat and just use it as a regular dresser. I think the dresser was an additional $350.00 and diapers.com didn't have it so I got it from Sears.com

This is a picture of our crib (this picture is from the website), it came in a set with the dresser and changing table in the picture. its by Nursery 101 and we got it from walmart. The set is $199 and surprisingly very sturdy and good. No one believes me when I say how much we paid for it.
The crib converts into a toddler bed.

I searched for months and months for the perfect crib. I wanted something vintage looking but my DH wanted something modern. We just couldn't agree on anything! Well, I ended up finding the most perfect compromise. It is very traditional, almost a mission style crib. It sits pretty low which I love (and it makes it look unique). It is real wood, non toxic finishes, and converts into a toddler bed and can also become a full size with the right conversion kit. I am so in love with it, I would get the same one for my next kid!
It is called the Eastside Island by Babi Italia. I got it at Babies R Us.

@Mrsbells: That is an amazing deal! You may have just sold me on starting with a crib instead of a pack n play, just because that would keep us from buying some things down the line...

We have the Graco Lauren and love it-actually just got it set back up for LO#2's arrival. We bought it at Walmart for around $130 but BRU and other places sell it as well.

If you like modern, check out the BabyMod line at Walmart. We have the Olivia crib and love it.
