I'll be honest, I have 2 crockpots and 1 Instant Pot and I love them all. I can't remember the brands of my crock pots but know they are well known. My big thing was that they have a timer and not just a setting for high, low, and warm so that it will switch to warm once the timer is done. And I put the ceramic part in the fridge all of the time. Are you letting it cool before you throw it in? Most of the time, I put everything in the insert the night before and throw it in the fridge and then take it out in the morning so I can just set it and go. I do let it sit for a few minutes to take the chill off before turning it on as I think it's just the quick change in temps that might be the issue?

And I love, love, love my Instant Pot. I use it weekly to make hard boiled eggs, rice, and quinoa among other meals. It makes the best chicken stock ever. It's great for when I need to get meals on the table quickly and need to be hands off. Yes, it takes time to come up to pressure but I don't have to tend to it so it's really helpful.

I don't like using the IP as a slow cooker so that's why I still have my crock pots. I also do a lot of batch cooking so I sometimes have all 3 going at the same time.

I also have an instant pot. I don’t use it a ton, but do love it for some things like steel cut oats.

I have the programmable InstaPot (picture affixed). It is GENIUS. Steak kabobs and veggies, soups, rices, 20 minute entire brown sugar and honey glazed hams, paella (yes, I've made family-recipe quality paella in there), desserts.... the list goes on what one can make in it! The best part is that it takes HALF (or even a fourth) of the time of a traditional slow cooker or crockpot. Oh, and it is snap to clean up as the inner pot and accessories all get tossed into the dishwasher! It is awesome!

I have an instant pot, crock pot and an aroma rice cooker from Costco that also does slow cooking. Crock pots are great for all day cooking but not much else. Mine is 7 qt so I only use it if I'm feeding a lot of people or I want leftovers. If I don't want tons but I want it going all day, I use my smaller rice cooker on the slow cooker setting. Like the instant pot, the insert and accessories can go in the dishwasher.

I only use the instant pot in the evening because it just cooks so fast. Sure it has a slow cooker setting, but it feels silly when I have two other appliances that do slow cooking too.
