He's got an Acura Integra. It's a 2 door, so won't be practical for LO's carseat, but me and DS can deal with it ok. I have a 4 door corolla, so it's going to be out "kid" car lol

He drive a Jeep Patriot. I like it but love my CRV more. I definitely have more "trunk" space in my CRV. It's 4 cylinders though so it's good on gas.

He has a 2012 Audi A3 TDI. It's a nice car, and it's amazing on gas (diesel), but it's small. We use my Kia Sorento most of the time.

2007 Toyota Camry.

He has a 2005 Audi a4. He is happy with it but I don't love it. Every time something little needs to be done it costs so much. I've requested no more German cars! (He hasn't quite agreed yet). We will prob get him a new car in 2015 but no real discussion on what yet.

An older Avalon. He just needs it for commuting. Last year he was in a wreck and totaled his commuter car. His parents had just bought a new car and we're planning to sell the Avalon but gave it to us instead. It was very generous of them!

@Cherrybee: when we lived in England, we would hear big (American) cars referred to as *Yank Tanks* . . . even as a kid it made me laugh!

@MsLipGloss: .We wouldn't use that word (it has pejorative undertones over here) but that's the general consensus about American cars in the UK, certainly!! Every time there is a thread on HB about using cloth nappies or something my DH starts spitting "ask her what car they drive.....". He's a little obsessed!

A truck! Toyota Tacoma

He has an Audi All-Road. He likes it, and it’s sportier than most station wagon type cars and awesome in the snow (AWD), but I know he doesn’t totally love it. He had a tiny 2 door Mercedes sports coupe prior to LO that he loved completely, and which he traded in for the Audi “dad mobile” when I got pregnant. I know he wants to get back to a smaller sportscar in the future, and I’m hoping we can somehow swing that for him, and keep the Audi for winter!

My DH drives a Saab.

@bluestriped bee: so that's what SS means! My husband has a SS Camaro. It's not going to be his dad mobile. We plan to get a Raptor when the time comes. I'm not sure if we will trade the Camaro in. Both cars are gas guzzlers anyway.

He used to have an '09 Dodge Ram Truck. It was beautiful and I loved having it, but I never drove it! Too big to drive on a daily basis for me so it was solely his vehicle.

Last month we decided to sell it since it was still worth enough to pay off my '10 Dodge Charger and to buy us an older, but still good SUV. So we did! Now we have a '05 Dodge Durango (are you sensing a loyalty here yet?) in its place. The Durango will be my primary vehicle when I go back to work since I work 5 minutes from home and will have LO in the mornings and DH will drive the car since it is better on gas and he works 25 minutes away. So he kind of doesn't have his own daddy-mobile now.

They are both mommy mobiles that daddy gets to drive.

ford expedition. it's huge. i wish i had it for my car

2003 Jeep Wrangler, it's our work car, whoever has the baby gets the Forester. C's never been inside it, but we have taken that Jeep all over the southwest in the past 10 years.

DH drives a Toyota 4 runner (I try to balance it out with my Camry hybrid )

He isn't a daddy yet, but he drives a Ford Super Duty F250 (a HUGE truck)..but it and it's gas, insurance, etc. is paid for by work.

His personal car is a Ford Mustang...but he never drives it. The baby would ride in the truck when with him.

@Cherrybee: I used to feel the same way about big cars, and I would get particularly snarky about single people driving huge SUVs (I knew a tiny 24 year old girl with a Hummer) beacuse I hate our country's dependence on oil.

Then I had a kid and since we're a 1 car family (living in a city with great public transport), we're probably going to make our next car a...wait for it...7 seater SUV. Because I don't want to drive a van every day, and we're going to have a second kid before two long, and because now that I know how much space car seats take and we *often* have visitors that need to ride with us....

So yup. I'm going to be one of them.

Until then I'm happily driving my old Honda Accord!
