Honda Civic! He has never had anything but Civic's! He has a dirty commute, so it works, is great on gas, and he loves the car!

He drives an older chevy impala and hates it. We sold his truck when we started to commute to work & bought him this commuter car. He misses having a truck, I don't miss the gas it was costing us to commute! It will be a fight when we decide to get him a nicer vehicle again, he wants an even bigger truck & I think a nice AWD car. (I have an Acadia SUV)

He has an 03 Infiniti G35. He needs a new one. Sometime next year. Going to put it off as long as we can. Going to get a Jeep Cherokee.

@Smurfette: I would keep an eye out for holiday deals. We bought hubs' car on January 1st and got 60months interest free financing.

@MamaMoose: We aren't getting one till after April when my car is paid off. But were thinking waiting till Oct/Nov and buy a 2014 when all the 2015 comes out. But after Christmas is a good idea. Plus longer we can pocket in savings a monthly car payment.

He's not a daddy yet, but he drives a Jeep Patriot. It's 4 cylinders and isn't awful with gas, so it will be good to keep around. I really want the new Jeep Cherokee to replace my Hyundai Elantra and DH will be super jelly.

My H has a Toyota Camry which is definitely more kid-friendly than my car. I have a two-door Fiat convertible, which I LOVE, but it is tiny
I don't really like big cars for a few different reasons, so I don't see us going much larger than the Camry. But never say never I suppose!

@Smurfette: Amen to that. It's been years since we've been car payment free. UGH. But he's interest free and I'm at 1.9%APR so it doesn't make sense to pay the cars of faster when the interest is so low.

Lol poor guy is stuck driving our pos 1996 Taurus! I drive the safe, reliable Toyota Rav because I have LO. When the Taurus dies we'll be getting a Subaru Impreza for him, but we're holding off as long as possible because we currently have no car payments and it's really nice.

1999 Mazda Miata -- 2 seat convertible. He bought it when I was pregnant with DS1, but I had no idea I was pregnant at the time. It's his fun car, and I wouldn't dare take it away from him. DS1 loves playing it in, and I want to save it for him one day. Hehe.

About 9 months ago we downsized to one "real" car (2013 Subaru Outback) and DHs "toy" (a 1972 Chevy pickup that he's fixing up). Right now he takes the 2013 Subaru to work (I work from home and don't need to go anywhere during the day) and plans to fix up the truck enough to sell it and make a down payment on a newer and safer daddy-mobile for when LO is here in March.

Lexus GS. He loves it because it's a "sporty" sedan, and I like it because it can accomodate all four of us comfortably if we take his car instead of mine.

@yin: aw that is cute!
we only have 1 car. it's a corolla. it's very manly for DH. not really. but whatever.

@yin: omg! There must be something about miatas! My dad has one and here's a picture of j in grandpas car
DH drives a Chevy Tahoe but he doesn't NEED it (for work) anymore...but it's paid off so we won't be changing that any time soon.

He just bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Love it so far. It will be our inner-city car and we'll use mine for longer trips.

DH drives a 2010 Toyota Tundra. Well, he drives it to pick up LO from daycare because it has the car seat. For work he drives a 2004 Dodge Neon. The truck is our "weekend car". We usually use it when we are taking a road trip somewhere or going camping. The rest of the time we drive my car.

He drives a two door, no back seat Toyota Tacoma from our previous life as DINKs. He's hanging onto it as long as possible, but it's likely going to have to go when I go back to work. Doesn't make sense for whoever's home to keep my Yaris, and the one who's making the 45 minute commute takes the gas guzzler.

Most of the time he's driving his 1982 Chevy Scottsdale diesel pickup, 2 doors, one bench seat. The shocks are gone and the tranny needs to be rebuilt, but he loves that thing. I'm not sure it really counts as a daddy mobile since it can only fit 2 car seats and we now have 3, but if he's going anywhere with all 3 kids, he'll be taking our Jeep Grand Cherokee and leaving Sam (the Scottsdale) for me.

2006 2 door Dodge Ram V-6 truck. It's really for work and we very rarely take LO anywhere in it since it's just got the one bench seat and smells like fish
I wish he would have held out for an extended cab but this was a GREAT deal when he bought it so we couldn't pass it up.

We share one car but my husband picked it out and deals with most of its issues. It's a 328i manual transmission in Estoril Blue. He loves it, and it meets my criteria of having four doors.
He will be a dad in late February, so I guess that's his deadline to install the infant seat base!

DH drives a 2006 Chevy Colbalt. It's a little tiny basic car, but it does the job! We're hoping to be able to upgrade my car and he get mine - or trade them both in and get him a Volt!
