We worked on sorting and organizing the baby's gifts from the shower. We're taking back a bunch of blankets and are going to put that towards one bigger, but really useful thing. We added a few things to our Goodwill pile as well. DH also sorted our school books, which is no small task. We probably have 300!

I didn't get to the towels, so maybe I will work on that tonight. I also need to go through my candle bin.

I've already been purging for over a month now. But still so much to go through. Yesterday I went thru the kitchen pantry and fridge and threw out a bag full of stuff. This morning I just went through DS's closet and took out a bag of clothes to sell.

Yay so excited. Well yesterday morning before we started this 40/40 I sold a big mirror and my red Converse (they fit too tight).

Then I also packaged up a garbage bag and a half of kids' clothes that I sold on the Hellobee classifieds. Dropping them off at the post office today!

I gathered a few bags and a box, but I don't think I can count the two bags of clothes until I drop them off at Goodwill. Our house is sooo junky right now, I think I need to do 80 bags! I didn't do my typical yearly de-cluttering since I was pregnant and didn't ever hit the "nesting" phase.

@Mrs. Bee: I was too late on some of your classified posts. Are you selling anymore girl clothes so I can be quick to look? I like how you add Olive's pictures with it too, it makes the clothes look so much cuter!

I have 4 bags so far. I also consider it an accomplishment that we hung all of our curtain rods and shelves we bought at Ikea last weekend this weekend so that removed things from the floor, thus making another "bag".

We finally did the dish towels! And I did most of my jewelry box-still necklaces left to finish. I have a big pile of jewelry to take to Goodwill, because I never wear it.

@HTownMom: that is some serious decluttering!

@mediagirl: good call We hung up a bunch of stuff, too, and it makes things look so much nicer!

@T.H.O.U.: I say it counts! And enjoy the clean bedroom

@mrsjazz: looks great! And honestly, I hear you on the books. We have so, so many, and I just can't part with them!

So my bags 1 + 2 were kids' artwork. We photographed them then bagged them up. We haven't gotten them out of the house yet though because we want to ensure most of the photos came out well enough. Wagon Sr. has been hacking away every night at editing and cropping them, but isn't even halfway through the almost 1,000 pictures he took...!!

I haven't bagged them up but I suspect bags 3, 4, and 5 are sitting on my closet floor. I cleaned out my closet hanging space of tops that don't fit or I never wear anymore. I also cleaned out my dresser drawers of home/comfy clothes, pajamas, workout clothes, and underwear, socks, and stockings. I literally have not had enough time yet to put these items into bags to go to the donation center. It has been a busy weekend...!!

Next to tackle are my bathroom cabinets, the hall bathroom cabinets, and my makeup drawer! (to all go in the garbage.) And Wagon Sr. is going to tackle his clothes too.

After that are the kids' closets... LMW's closet is filled with hand-me-downs that I need to thin out and put into crates by size. And Wagon Jr.'s closet is filled with random clothing of ours... old coats, crates full of old t shirts that we don't wear anymore... all going to donation!!

I love all of this...!!

Love hearing about everyone's progress. We worked on the master bedroom closet and junk drawer this weekend. Today I am going to work on the guest bedroom that will be nursery #2 this summer.

@mrsjazz: I haven't started the bags challenge yet, but DH and I try to follow the "get rid of 10 things every day" philosophy..

I totally feel you on the books situation, though. When we moved in June my goal was to whittle my collection down to my absolute favorites and those I'd read again. I still have an overflowing bookshelf and a bunch of books stored in Rubbermaid containers though. I highly recommend the library card! I have 5 books out of the library right now!

@brady80: LOL, I'm pretty sure that would be my husband's nightmare Then again, I have a bad habit of wanting to declutter at odd moments, so maybe he wouldn't be that surprised.
