No, but most of us did stay at the same hotel the night of the wedding, so we all had breakfast together the next day

We did - we had an out of town wedding and most of our guests stayed at the resort so we felt hosting a brunch would be a nice gesture. It was fun!

We did. Our wedding was a mini destination wedding, at least an hour travel if not more for all of our guests at a huge hotel/indoor water park, so most stayed over and we had brunch before most of us spent the day at the water park. It was fun!

Yes I because it was also my bday celebration. DH was not happy most of my family ordered lobster omelets. Cheapo!

We had a BBQ at our lake house the next day for anyone that wanted to come.

We didn't have an official one but did have close family & friends over the next day to open gifts, etc. Also allowed us to spend more time with family who had flown into town for our wedding.

No, thank goodness LOL We had our wedding at our house, and my IL's stayed with us the days leading up to the wedding. They were all basically gone by the time we got up the day after the wedding, and we were ready to be alone

We had a brunch at our house. It was over 100 people so we had it catered and rented a tent, tables/chairs, and a bouncy house for the kiddos. It was Memorial Day so it was also warm enough to swim in our pool. We had a lot of out of town guests so we wanted to entertain them while they were here.

We did. We had a brunch at the marina. All of my family, close friends and his sisters' families stayed in town for it.

We did. We actually hosted a "meet and greet" lobster bake friday night, wedding saturday, and then sunday morning brunch. Most of our guests were from out of state so we wanted to try to make the wedding a nice weekend for them all

Nope. It was discussed but we just sort of never got around to planning it. I'm so glad we didn't. I was exhausted the next day and it took like an hour long shower to get all the hairspray out of my hair so I wouldn't have been a happy camped if I had to stay on a schedule. The hotel where we and everyone else stayed has an amazing brunch so everyone just went on their own time (and their own dime) and we visited with people as much as we could.

Nope, we had breakfast in bed at the hotel :). It was going to be such a huge expense, and we'd already hosted a welcome party in addition to the wedding, so we opted out.

We didn't host, persay, but anybody who stayed in the hotel gathered for breakfast and dh and i opened gifts.

My parents hosted a brunch at their house for family and out of town guests. It was really nice but stressful for them.

Nope! We got married out of town so everyone had their time frame to get back home the next day. Really glad since I was hungover!!

We did. Some of our family weren't able to make it to the wedding (my cousin's graduation was the same night), so they drove through the night to celebrate with us at brunch the next day.

No and I woke up with a horrible stomach virus the day after my wedding (caught from my sister/bridesmaid who got it on the wedding day so missed my wedding). I spent the day after my wedding throwing up. It was way too ugly for brunch, ha ha.

Nope. We left super early Sunday morning for the airport to go on our honeymoon.

No, it was out of town, so we all had breakfast at the hotel together that morning. I wish we could have had a nice relaxing brunch at our house though!

No, we had to catch a plane at 5 AM for our flight to get to Jamaica for our honeymoon
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope bc we had a 5am flight for our honeymoon. All of my family got together on their own for lunch the next day though! If we stayed in town, I would have hosted something. I had family fly from a different continent to be at our wedding so I'd love to be able to spend more time with them!

Nope, we didn't leave our hotel room until 2pm or so. Everyone had breakfast long before us. We stopped at a local burger joint for our second married meal before visiting my brother and other family members on Sunday.

Nope! We had more events leading up to the wedding day and then a big lunch with my mom's family in from out-of-state on the Monday afterward but no plans were made for the day after. That was designated rest and relaxation day. Most people either made plans with those they knew or went home in the morning so they could get back to their real lives before the work week started.

Oh dear gawd no. The in-laws hosted the rehearsal dinner the night before, which included the reeeally out of town guests (Kathmandu, California, Oregon, Colorado) along with the bridal party/family, and then with the wedding the next day/night, it was pleeenty for me (the world's biggest introvert).
We did our gift opening over a month later with just our parents as we took off for Cabo the night after our wedding.

Yes, we had brunch at our house. We had so many out of town family it was nice to get to spend some more time with them.

My inlaws hosted it but yes, we had one. It was at a place that did a really nice buffet and a lot of people showed up. it was nice to have the extra time to see people I felt like I didn't see enough of at the wedding, and it really wasn't any extra work for us other than trying to get there on time (and we were still a little late, oops). I'm really glad we did. Our wedding was also mini-destination-- everyone had to travel an hour plus, since our families are all so scattered, so it was nice to send people off with some good food.

We rented out a room at a bar so that we could watch football. We are huge Bears fans. We ordered bar food and had a cash bar. It was such a great time

My day's side of the family got together for breakfast the next morning. Most of them are on the west coast and older. We were divided into two tables: the Chinese speaking one, with my dad and his sisters and bils, and the English speaking table with my cousins and rest of the family.

We did, and I was really glad. It was a good time with all our family who came to celebrate with us, and gave us more relaxed time to spend with them.

We did and it was so much fun - it ended up almost being as big as the wedding! It was a great way to see everyone and thank them in person. We actually got married on my parent's front porch, partied in a tent till 4am, and then woke up the next morning for brunch cooked by my mom and dad. I loved our wedding day!!

Yes! I was also pregnant at the wedding so we used it as an opportunity to do a gender reveal cake. It was the only time all our family and friends could be together (we all live on separate coasts) and it was great
