While we were picking up LO from daycare yesterday (she's in a center daycare/preschool), one of the teachers came up to my husband (I was in another room talking to another teacher), and asked him to loan her $200 because she's "short on rent." He told me about it when we got to our car. His response was to punt it (I don't have that kind of cash, let me see what we can do).

I have no idea how to handle this. And full disclosure - I'm usually a worst case scenario thinker, so my mind immediately went to LO's safety because if someone is financially desperate enough to ask a parent for money (which I imagine is against all sorts of policies the daycare has), who knows what they might do.

The teacher is someone we really like, and I wasn't there for the conversation so I don't have a read on her body language or approach (and my husband is a bit clueless on this subject), but she is still a stranger and we have no intention of loaning her the money. The issue isn't even that, though. I'm not sure if I should report her to the director or just say no and leave it at that or ignore it and hope it doesn't come up again. I'm honestly just nervous about the potential worst case scenario (though feel free to tell me I'm being nuts).

Thoughts?
