I was driving home on lunch today to let me dog out, and it's -15 with a wind chill of like -40....so I let my car warm-up for a good 5-10 minutes, so I start driving and once I get to the first stop sign, I hit my brakes and the pedal went right to the floor, as my car was vveerrrryyy slowly stopping. Well I ended up blowing through that intersection, and I went straight on the freeway. So I stayed in the right lane going 10 under the speed limit. At that point I called my Dad crying....(he's a mechanic) asking what I should do. Luckily my house is literally one turn off the freeway.
So I ended up just staying on the freeway I exited and just went as slow as possible. I got to my street, and hit the brakes, and this time they worked! Well after that they didn't work again. So I managed to slowly get it in the garage (without busting through the other side!!) I had a coworker pick me up and bring me back to work now after lunch. I was shaking, and I was SOOOOO scared though! I'm soooo thankful I stayed safe!
I have no idea what's wrong!! My dad said something about my brake line, but I'm just hoping it's the cold weather....
So note to everyone, in really cold weather, just drive slow, and don't get mad and upset at people driving really slow.....I can't tell you how many times I was flipped off on my way home
