Interesting list! Surprised by the name Danielle though - I loooove that name, and would've been a top contender if it weren't my SIL's name. I also really like Seth, and a friend recently named her baby Jordan.

@Mrs. High Heels: oh I love Hailey/Haley/Hayley- such a pretty and sweet name.
I love a lot of the rising names too: Lincoln, Mila, Aria, Jase, and Scarlett.
I'm not surprised by Penelope- a few people I know recently named their daughters that. Also not surprised about Jaxon/Jackson.

My daughter's name is on that list. Ha! I'm curious to see if these names change in popularity in 20+ years when our children become parents. The list of the dropping names sounds like roll call at my high school!
The list of rising names doesn't surprise me but... Ugh. I'm not a fan.

I must be pretty boring as none of the names on the rising names list appeal to me. Not at all. The falling names I'm pretty meh on for babies, but mainly because I associate a lot of those names with people my own age.
All that being said, I've never been one for trendy names - I like classic names that withstand the test of time and don't scream out one particular decade.

Interesting list! I wish they had kept the scale consistent, some were much higher than others and had farther drops but the scales moved
@mrbee: this article is good example of why it would be nice if links opened in new tabs instead of directing away from HB. To get back to this page I had to hit back like 12 times back through all the slides. I know on computers you can hit control + click to open in a new tab, but I either don't remember or I'm on my phone and can't do that (like right now)

Most of the dropping names are not too surprising, they mostly feel like 80s or 90s to me. Which isn't a bad thing, but when I meet a Jessica or Jennifer, I expect them to be closer in age to me than to LO. We know a baby Megan and we were surprised at the name choice actually.
Some of the rising ones were a little weird. I like Lincoln alot though, that was on our "boy" list before we found out LO was a girl.

i actually know a decent # of baby hayleys! and i didn't realize jenna, amanda and danielle had dropped so much, they aren't names i associate specifically with a generation like jessica, jennifer. i like danielle too

Besides the names that were 2003 peaks like Haley and Jordan, it's all of the names of all of my friends! So either they feel like mom names or they still feel really prevalent or popular. I love Jessica though...I think it should become a classic.

DD's name is on the list. I am kinda sad though. It's a family name - my great-grandmother's name and my middle name. It has been my #1 contender for well over a decade and now I finally have a DD it's popular.

@Pirouette: I do associate Amanda with the later 70's, 80's and early 90's. A lot of Amanda's are within five years of age from me. And I haven't heard it on anyone younger than me!
But I do agree that Jenna and Danielle are more wider used- but still weren't really used until the 70's-80's I think... I still associate the names with certain ages!

I really like Megan and Erin! I wouldn't be surprised to meet a baby by either of those names. Shows what I know, though!
I prefer Jess and Jenn over the full versions of their names. They always just seemed very cool girl names to me, haha.
I met someone who was going to name their kid Tiffany recently. I was pretty surprised, since that is pretty 80s to me.
