My living room is pretty traditional looking but I wanted to update it with a nice area rug since there's a big sale on them this weekend. I wanted to get something more modern looking (like the one pictured). Will I have to add more modern finishes to the room to make the room flow? Or should I just not buy the rug? I don't have a decent picture of my living room but here's part of it...

I think it will look pretty in there! The colors flow and it will make it look more modern like you're going for.

I like the pattern a lot. I don't think everything in a room has to be "traditional" in order for it to work. Mixing it up is a good thing! The rug is a neutral-toned, so it will work with your existing furniture.
